As many of you now know, Steph our nursery manager will be leaving Little Sparks Nursery and will be taking on the role of Nursery Manager at one of our sister nurseries.

Steph’s last day at Little Sparks will be Tuesday 2nd May. Alison will be taking on the role as Little Sparks new manager 😊

Our focus child in Little Lambs loves emergency vehicles and farm animals 🐴.

The farm animals were stuck in the mud and we had to rescue them. We talked about what animals we could see and what noises they make. We also had a look at which emergency vehicles we could see such as a police car and fire engine, the babies made ‘nee naw’ sounds 🚒.

Today in Little Lambs we celebrated Eid. We had a backdrop with lights and some funky glasses which the babies took pictures, as their little photo shoot. The babies enjoyed wearing the glasses they chose and sitting with their friends.

Also we had Eid food today in nursery for dinner and the babies enjoyed eating their food, they said “yum yum,” “rice” and “chicken .”

This encouraged cultural capital as the children are learning new things about an Asian culture by celebrating Eid and trying new food. Also tasting new food and textures, such as samosas and mint sauce.

One of our focus children in Little Lambs is interested in Moana.

We did a tuff tray full of oats and hid pictures of Moana in the tuff tray. The children worked together to find Moana. This develops the children social skills and communication and language skills. As the children were talking to each other and they use the words “ here you go,” “ there” and “Mona.”

One of our focus children have been enjoying reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar at home in our Little Lambs room.

Today we had to find the different pictures of food and feed the caterpillar. The babies used lots of language such as ‘hiding’ and ‘yummy’ we also named the different foods we could see such as ‘apple’ ‘ice cream’ and ‘cheese’.
We then read the story counting how many fruits the caterpillar ate 🐛.

💫 Staffing Update 💫

Marie, our Little Lambs leader and 3rd in charge will be moving to one of our sister nurseries as their pre school leader.

Marie’s last day will be Friday 21st April. We wish Marie the very best of luck in her new role, as Marie is staying within the company, we are sure she will come to visit us 🥰

One of our focus child’s interest this week has been cars as the child went to Eureka science museum! 🚘

We explored cars and paint! We mixed different colours and made lots of different marks 🎨

This activity developed the children’s physical develop, as they were using their gross motor skills to push and pull the vehicles from one place to another.

Also the children used words such as, “up,” “down,” “blue” and “red.”

Our Wise Owls have been talking about the farm! We role played scenarios using small world figures 🐑 🐖 🐄

Today I’m Little Lambs we had a tuff tray with different kind of food, so the babies can feel different textures of taste different food.

It was one of our focus child’s interest that they are trying different food at home and understanding the different textures of food, The children used words such as “soft,” “hard” and “cold.”
