We are looking forward to welcoming our students back to Waterloo Road on Wednesday 4th January at 8:35am.

Before you return in the new year, here are a few changes we have made to suit the needs of the school and our pupils.

• The timings of the school day have changed slightly, and all students and staff have amended timetables which they will get during registration on the first day of term.
• The school day will start at 8:35am and finish at 3:25pm.
• Year 13 Revision Sessions will be starting on Thursday 5th January from 3:25pm-4:25pm, alternating each week between subjects. Your tutors will give you this information next week.
• Year 13 won’t always be in lessons. You must be on site from 8:35am until all your lessons have finished for the day.
• ALL STUDENTS – Please make sure your school contact details are up to date. Please email the school office on [email protected] or go to reception on the first day back. It is important that we have the correct contact details for your parent/guardian.
• SIXTH FORM – We have created a Waterloo Road Student App, to help you keep track of homework, view your timetable and sign in and out.
• Your parent/guardian will be emailed a login and they can track late submissions, detentions and will be notified every time you sign in or out of the school. This app is to save you all congregating around reception during the busy times of the school day.
• Signing in and out every day is extremely vital, in case of an emergency. We need to know where you are at all times.
• ABSENSES – YOU OR YOUR PARENT/GUARDIAN MUST CONTACT THE SCHOOL BY 9AM IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE IN SCHOOL.
• If you need to leave before the end of the school day for whatever reason, please make sure you have informed the school office in advance and sign out on your way out, with a note explaining your reason for leaving early.
• There are plenty of places for you to complete homework, coursework and independent study during the lessons when you are off timetable.
• Due to unforseen circumstances, Mr Guthrie has left Waterloo Road. We welcome our new History teacher in January and is looking forward to meeting our wonderful students.

Year 13, you have been sent emails about revision sessions and the app for sixth form students.

Parents and guardians, please keep checking your emails regularly.

Today, we had a fantastic workshop delivered to our Year 11 students as part of Waterloo Road’s Careers Week!

A massive thank you to Rebecca Hoffman from Poppestroit Musical Theatre Company & Hoffman Coaching for coming in today to deliver this workshop to our students! They thoroughly enjoyed it!

Today consisted of the students learning a dance routine to Bop To The Top, acting out some scenes from High School Musical, and singing What I’ve Been Looking For.

FUN FACT: Rebecca choreographed all routines for Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical, which is available to watch in cinemas now! She is also a choreographer for BBC Strictly Come Dancing. Rebecca is also a former Waterloo Road pupil, and was taught by Miss Campbell!

Thank you Rebecca for coming in today to spend time with our students, amongst your pretty hectic schedule!
