This was also a new experience for all the lovely ladies who came along, and they all did a fantastic job at making these beautiful covers.

Edit: Our lovely volunteer, Ali from 2Good2Waste upcycling from charity for charity, has kindly paired up the bobbins into sets. We'd like to ask for a donation of £1 per pair and can post to UK (not overseas) with added cost of postage & packing. Preference will go to local lacemakers who can collect from Wantage Oxfordshire.

The remaining cushions are pictured below and we'd like £15 each for those. ☺️

LOADS of Lacemaking kit donated at The Makery. Do we have any lacemakers able to give it a new home?! They are such beautiful bobbins but we're reluctant to repurpose until we've tried to re-home them.

The Makery attended a School's Climate Conference yesterday organised by Sustainable Wantage.

We heard about what local schools are doing to be more sustainable and local organisations shared what they are doing through activities with the children.

The Makery talked about buying less and mending or reusing what we already have. Children took a reused goody bag made with old jeans from our Sustainable Stash and some reclaimed craft materials to make button bookmarks back at school. Well done to all the children involved - they were so eloquent, enthusiastic and engaged. ❤️♻️🌍
