As a remark of respect and after receiving Guidance from the Department for Education. Little Saplings Childcare Centres will be closed for the Bank Holiday on Monday 19th September 2022.

For any of our parents looking for something to do with your little ones this weekend . Handsworth rugby club (they’re only round the corner from the nursery ) are hosting a community day on Sunday 28th August 12-6.

Revamp of the gardens well under way. This is our construction themed area taking shape.

We have a rare vacancy for a qualified L3 Nursery Practitioner working Term Time only, 30 hours per week. With opportunities for overtime. This is a 12 month contract with the possibility of extension. Working various shift patterns during the hours of 7am to 6pm. ALL application forms are to be completed through our website in order for them to be considered .

Reminder to all parents. If a child is 3 on or before 31st December and you think you qualify for 30hr funding. You need to apply and get the code as soon as the system lets you. We can not apply for you. If theres a delay and the code is not issued till after the 31st then it will not be valid till 1st April 2022.

For paid places remember our prices go up on 1st January 2022.

At Little Saplings we take the Health of our Staff, Children and Families very seriously. If your child has a persistent cough they need to be seen by a doctor and get a PCR Covid test. Call NHS 111
if your doctor cant help and they will sort immediate appointments. Plus Sandwell has 100's of immediate appointments for PCR tests (even at weekends) available. Dont dose your child up and send them in. Protect your child, your family and those at the nursery and their families.

Our new extension that is now our Preschool Room is fully up and running. This almost doubles the number of children we can take, Further refurbishment is planned.

Applications for Funded places for January. Close this 19th Jan. Next round will be for April starts.

We have to remind parents School Places are decided by the Local Authority and not the schools. Attending a school Nursery does not Guarantee a place at that school.

In our efforts to help our families and those around us. We would like to thank Asda Queslett Great Barr, for there wonderful donation of essential food. Pictured our own David Duffill collecting the food from Michaela the stores communities chamion. So many families are still on reduced income furlough or have lost their jobs all together, in this pandemic. We had comments like, its the first meat they have had in a very long time. We have been able to prepare it and sit down to a good meal with our household for the first time in a very long while. Plus they now have other essentials that they can make a good meals from.

Each week as part of Fareshare Little Sapling's David Duffill (one of our co owners), collects food that would be skipped by supermarkets. We help not only our families but struggling familes in the community. Today we were able to help families in the Rye Croft area of Walsall as well. Over the last 2 and half years over 4 tonnes of food had been rescued by us to help those in need.

Thank to our parents for their understanding while essential works is carried out at the Community Centre

Been anounce today schools will not open before 8th March. Nurseries will carry on being open as normal.

Just let everyone know Sandwell have suspended all blue lid dustbin collecting from Monday

Based on tonight’s announcement. We have been asked to stay open during the new lockdown.

Sandwell Moves to Tier 4, from midnight today.

Reminder the cut off for appling for funded 30hrs childcare is 31st December (best well before).

Some parents have seen about a Phased return to schools in January. This only effects secondary schools and not us, or Pre Schools and Primary schools.

Can we remind all parents that if any child has symptoms or a positive covid test over Christmas to notify us immediately.

ASDA is now opening its Cafes. I have received this from my contact at ASDA. I have been told YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY ANYTHING to get a kids meal. Nice one ASDA.
