Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-school - Walsall

Today is World Bee day!!
We have been celebrating our stripey friends by learning about all things Bees!
We have learnt all about how important they are for looking after our world and the flowers and plants around us in our environment.
We have explored a real life bee hive, exploring the honeycomb, the shapes, patterns, smells, textures and what the bees get up to in their hives.
We have explored the jobs of a bee keeper, trying out bee suits and talking about how they keep the bee keeper safe while tending to the bees. Also how we can get honey from the hive and even had a little taste of some yummy fresh honey.
We have reinforced how bees are our friends and that we need to show them kindness :) and not to bother them if they are busy.
The children have explored with Awe and Wonder and our pre school smells amazingly sweet!!

Well where do we start !!!!!
We started our week being student doctors and now we are the Resident doctors of Little Creators. We have had such a great time learning about how some people are poorly and need help from doctors and nurses. We have looked after our babies on the Little Creators ward and we have been super busy making a special canvas to take to the hospital along with all the donations of toys for the children on the cardiology ward. We have has such a wonderful time and we are so grateful for the support we have received.
There is still time to donate a new toy to the children's hospital as we will be collecting them until the end of February.
We would also like to make a big shout out to one of our parents that is a nurse and kindly came in on her time off to talk to the children about what a nurse is and what they do. She taught us why it is so important to wash our hands as there are germs on them. She taught us what each piece of equipment in our medical bag is used for. She supported us with our bandaging skills and we just want to say a massive thank you for ending our doctors week so amazingly. We have had a lot of fun exploring doctors ,nurses and a little on surgeons giving operations to make people better. We were so concerned about their poorly ( surgery scars) so we talked about our emotions and how to make them happy again.
This has ended our CHD awareness week so please give a thought to all those who are affected by CHD and their families

Here in Little creators next week we are taking part in CHD awareness week. We are going to be doctors, nurses and medical professionals for the week. We are going to collect donations of new toys to take to the children on the heart ward at Birmingham children's hospital.
