Last week marked the beginning of our Autumn term British Sign Language (BSL) taster sessions, delivered in local community venues and at our Hawbush Campus.
These eight-week taster sessions provide the perfect introduction to BSL. Learn how to introduce yourself, finger spell, meet and greet and develop essential deaf awareness skills!

🌟✨ Alumni nail technician, Emily is on an amazing acrylic winning streak! 🎉 She was awarded five medals - a gold, two silver and two bronze — at Professional Beauty North in Manchester, proving her talent in various nail art categories. This was after previously winning a silver medal in Glasgow.
“I get such a buzz from competing,” said Emily. 💅
Her stunning carnival-themed nail art, featuring a Ferris wheel and 3D designs, wowed the judges and she's eager for even more success.
Look out for her in our The Graduate Academy of Hair & Beauty in the new year where she will be gaining some experience as an assessor to our students, inspiring them to take part in competitions too. 💖✨

Our students have been behind the scenes at the Birmingham Rep, meeting theatre professionals and getting a backstage pass into performing arts careers. They explored set design, stood on the main stage and learnt about the history of the theatre and how it operates today.
