Dear Parents and Carers,

With the warmer weather approaching, we kindly ask for your support in helping us keep the children safe and comfortable while enjoying outdoor play.

• Apply a long-lasting sun cream to your child before they arrive at nursery each morning.
• Provide a named bottle of sun cream for your child to keep at nursery so that staff can reapply it during the day as required. Alternatively, parents may contribute £1 towards the nursery sun cream supply.
• Ensure your child brings a named sun hat every day to help protect them from the sun.
• Dress your child in suitable clothing for warm weather, such as lightweight, loose-fitting clothing that covers the shoulders where possible.

We will encourage children to play in shaded areas where possible, provide regular access to drinking water, and support them in staying protected from the sun throughout the day.

Please make sure all sun cream and hats are clearly labelled with your child's name.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep all children safe during the warmer days.

Kind regards,

The Nursery Team

This week, our preschool children have been exploring The Colour Monster and learning about emotions through colour.
By linking colours to feelings such as happiness, sadness, anger, fear, and calmness, the children are developing their emotional vocabulary and learning important emotional regulation skills. Understanding and talking about feelings helps children build confidence, self-awareness, and positive relationships.

Our children have enjoyed planting and growing herbs and vegetables, learning how seeds grow and change over time. This links beautifully to our focus Marvellous Me, helping children understand growth, development, and how they can flourish with care and encouragement.

Marvellous me!

Children learn to develop strong minds, bodies and spirits preparing them to belong, contribute and thrive ready to play their roles in the community.
We are so proud of Mathias and Freya who have both attended the YMCA nursery. They have made us proud by continuing to thrive and grow into amazing beings!!

We’ve been making the most of the lovely warm weather with lots of outdoor play and exploration!
Outdoor learning is such an important part of the Birth to Five Matters guidance, helping children develop their physical skills, confidence, communication, and creativity through play and discovery.
The children have loved exploring, staying active, and enjoying the fresh air together!
