The sun shone as Nursery set off to the outdoor classroom to enjoy their beach party.
So much fun was had as the children engaged in a variety of action-packed activities, from fun games to paddling in pools and making sandcastles.

A particularly popular feature was the role-play ice-cream parlour where the children used their imaginative and sensory skills to create their own recipes and flavours.

To top the afternoon off, everyone enjoyed a real-life ice-cream treat!

We held a really successful Mark Making workshop last week, for parents to learn more about how to support their children at home.

At Hydesville Nursery we value the importance of mark making in the early years and developing pre-writing skills. Mark making is where a child commences their journey towards writing, therefore activities to promote the development of hand eye co-ordination and fine motor skills are crucial in order to be able to hold a pencil and other writing tools.

We hope everyone who came along enjoyed the interactive session and came away with lots of hints and tips. Thank you for your ongoing support!

Last Friday, Year 5 took a step back in time when they visited Blists Hill Victorian Town in Ironbridge.

Pupils spent the day immersed in the Victorian era, with the highlight being a hands-on candle dipping workshop. They enthusiastically participated in crafting their own candles, gaining a unique insight into Victorian craftsmanship, after a quick visit to the onsite tallow maker.

The day was filled with excitement and learning, as pupils explored the historical village, interacted with costumed characters, and witnessed first hand the everyday life of the Victorian period.

It was a memorable and educational adventure that brought their history lessons vividly to life.

🎉 Congratulations to our Year 9 and 10 adventurers! 🎉
A huge round of applause for the 30 pupils who have successfully completed the expedition element of their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.
Last weekend, these intrepid pupils braved the great outdoors, trekking through the beautiful but challenging terrain of Cannock Chase. Each day, they spent over six hours walking, demonstrating incredible endurance and teamwork. They also camped overnight in tents, showcasing their ability to adapt and thrive in the wilderness.
These pupils put their classroom planning sessions to the test. Divided into small groups, they meticulously planned their routes and organised their own expeditions. Despite the tough conditions, they all rose to the challenge and completed their mission with flying colours.
A special shoutout to Mrs. Khan, Miss Eynon, and Mr. Roderick for their unwavering support and guidance. We are incredibly proud of all our participants - you were all fantastic!
👏 Well done, everyone! 👏

Last Thursday, Year 6 pupils, Mr Burnham and Mrs Samra challenged themselves mentally and physically at Ninja Warrior UK in the next phase of the Hydesville Challenge.

An inspiring and aspirational activity, pupils climbed, balanced, jumped and swung across different obstacles using and developing their Ninja skills. Many also dangled and dropped but persevered to succeed and there were further challenges ahead in the form of Mount Sasuke and the famous Warped Wall.

The visit was completed with a game of tag in the giant inflatable area. In all, an exhilarating (and exhausting) adventure!

The recent half term break was certainly very busy for Prep School siblings Kadii, Maven and Cataleya!

Followers will be aware that Kadii is already a published author and her younger sister, Cataleya is following hot on her heels! Work is well underway with Cataleya’s new book and during a week’s holiday in Hay-On-Wye, the talented trio spent time meeting lots of famous faces and getting advice on their literary careers.

After lunch with Dame Maggie Aderin-Pocock and a whistlestop tour of Hay-on-Wye’s bookshops the family visited the Hay Festival where they met more of their icons: Jacqueline Wilson, Liverpool FC's youngest ever football player, Jerome Sinclair, cartoonist/Illustrator, Henry Parker, Dermot O'Leary, Jamaican Novelist and Lecturer, Marlon James, author, Fiona Williams and Apache Indian!

Everyone the children met were so complimentary about Kadii and Cataleya’s work, and they received lots of helpful tips and guidance.

We undoubtedly have a trio of creative entrepreneurs in our school and are already so proud of their accomplishments and achievements to date. We can’t wait to see where the next chapter of their journey takes them!
