New campaign launched to create more female role models in engineering and manufacturing - In-Comm Training Services 10/06/2026

Today, we launched our 2026 campaign.

Built around a powerful message from women across engineering and manufacturing, "We don't want to be seen as the exception, we want to be seen as the rule", this year's campaign shines a spotlight on the female role models helping to shape our sector every day.

Through a series of inspiring stories, videos and personal experiences, we'll be celebrating the diverse careers, achievements and journeys of women in industry, while highlighting the opportunities available to future generations.

Women currently represent just 16.9% of the workforce in core engineering and technology roles. By showcasing visible role models and authentic experiences, we hope to challenge perceptions, spark conversations and encourage more people to see engineering and manufacturing as an inclusive and rewarding career choice.

A huge thank you to our campaign partners and the incredible women who have shared their stories to help inspire others.

Learn more about the campaign, meet some of the role models involved and discover how you can get involved in helping us create a more inclusive future for engineering and manufacturing:

Manufacturing is evolving fast and businesses are investing in automation, robotics, and connected technologies to stay competitive.

But technology alone is not enough. The real difference comes when teams have the skills to operate, programme, maintain, and maximise these systems effectively.

That’s why more manufacturers are investing in workforce development alongside automation. From reducing downtime and improving consistency to solving real production challenges, skills training is becoming just as important as the technology itself.
