You can have a strong message and still lose the room in the first 30 seconds.

How you structure and deliver that message often determines whether people keep listening.

Join Walsall Speakers for a practical evening focused on the foundations of effective public speaking.

We will explore:

• how to build a compelling speech from scratch
• how body language affects your connection with the audience
• how vocal variety can keep people engaged
• how to manage nerves and speak with greater confidence
• how to prepare and deliver a helpful evaluation

Whether you are preparing for a work presentation, an important speech or simply want to feel more comfortable speaking in front of others, you are welcome to join us.

No previous experience is required.

"Walsall Speakers is my playground. It became the place where I can be unapologetically me, where I can let all the crazy ideas flow because I feel unjudged and supported."

That’s what Mariam said during one of our Open Nights.

And trust me, she meant every word.

You could feel the emotion in the room as she said it.

But Mariam wasn’t always like this.

When she first walked into Walsall Speakers two years ago, she was shy, quiet and unsure of herself.

She has told this story more than once:

"I felt welcomed from the very first meeting. At the end, I went to David, who was in charge of membership, and in the quietest, least confident voice, I told him I wanted to join."

Two years later, Mariam is the President of Walsall Speakers.

Along the way, she built the confidence to take on new opportunities, including paid public speaking.

She often says that Walsall Speakers changed her life for the better.

Not because she suddenly stopped being nervous.

She practised.

She spoke.

She got feedback.

She came back and did it again.

So if you recognise a little of yourself in the Mariam who walked through our doors two years ago, maybe this could be your place to start too.
