🥣✨ Breakfast Club – A Great Start to the Day! ✨🥯

It has been lovely to see some of our new Year 7 students making the most of Breakfast Club in the mornings and settling into life at Great Wyrley Academy.

With free cereal, bagels and a relaxed start to the day, Breakfast Club gives students the chance to arrive, refuel and get themselves ready for learning.

Breakfast Club is open to students from all year groups, and it is fantastic to see it being enjoyed so positively already. 💛

✍️🌟 Getting to Know Our Year 7s! 🌟✍️

Our Year 7 students have been getting creative as they settle into life at Great Wyrley Academy.

As part of a recent introductory activity, students used our wipe-clean table surfaces as their canvas, sharing words and ideas that described who they are, their interests and the things that are important to them.

It was a simple but brilliant way for students to express themselves, discover shared interests and get to know the people around them.

There were some fantastic responses, plenty of creativity and lots of conversations along the way — a great way to help our newest students feel comfortable, confident and part of the academy community.

A special shout-out to Mr Frost for bringing such creativity to the activity and turning a simple idea into something the students really engaged with. 👏

I would just like to say a huge thank you to our students, staff, families and wider community for making me feel so welcome during my first week at Great Wyrley Academy.

I have really appreciated the kindness, support and positivity I have received, and it has been a fantastic start to my time here.

I have written a short letter to share my thanks and a little more about my vision for Great Wyrley Academy.

A new school year begins tomorrow, and we are especially looking forward to welcoming our new Year 7 students as they begin their journey with us at Great Wyrley Academy. 🌟

New classrooms, new friendships and so many new opportunities lie ahead. We hope you quickly feel at home, find your feet and enjoy everything that being part of our academy community has to offer.

👋 Year 7 – please arrive in full uniform and head straight to the Theatre for a Welcome Assembly with the Headteacher.
👩‍🎓 Years 8–11 – please arrive in full correct uniform and go directly to your form rooms.
