This week at nursery we celebrated Culture Week, where the children took part in a variety of activities and had the opportunity to talk proudly about their own cultures, traditions and identities. It has been wonderful to see the children learning about each other and developing an understanding of the diverse world around them.
It is important for children to learn to understand and respect different cultures, communities and values. Through these experiences, children are encouraged to build positive relationships, develop respect for others and celebrate what makes us all unique.
To end our special week, the children came dressed in their cultural attire and brought in a dish from their culture to share with their friends during snack time. The children thoroughly enjoyed tasting different foods and learning more about one another’s backgrounds.
This week we also released our butterflies after watching them grow and transform over the past few weeks. The children were thrilled to experience this special moment and were excited to watch the butterflies fly away into their natural environment. It has been a wonderful learning experience for the children to observe the butterfly life cycle firsthand.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our parents for making such a special effort by dressing your children in their cultural clothing and bringing in dishes to share. Your support helped make the week so meaningful and memorable for the children.
We would also like to say a very big thank you to Atika and Jodie from South Family Hub for completing all five sessions of Magical Moments with our nursery children and parents. These sessions have been extremely beneficial in supporting parents to further develop their children’s language and communication skills at home.
We hope you all have a lovely half-term break. Children will return to nursery on Monday 1st June. 😊

We have had such a fantastic weeks at nursery!
During our “Learning About Space” week, the children took part in a variety of exciting activities. They created delicious star biscuits, explored different planets through creative activities, and enjoyed reading the story Man on the Moon, which captured their imaginations and encouraged lots of discussion.
We were also pleased to welcome Atika and Jodie from the Family Hub, who delivered their fourth session with our nursery parents and children to help further develop language skills. Everyone had a wonderful time, especially during the singing activities and exploring with a variety of different materials.
To make our learning even more exciting, our caterpillars finally transformed into beautiful butterflies! 🦋 The children loved observing the changes each day and learning all about the butterfly life cycle through first-hand experiences. It has been such a magical and memorable learning opportunity for everyone.
Have a wonderful weekend! 😊

What a lovely week we have had at nursery!
This week, our children have been learning all about growing and planting. The children enjoyed planting seeds both at nursery and in their own plant pots to take home. This will be part of our continuous learning, where the children will observe and learn about the life cycle of the different seeds they have grown.
At nursery, the children planted strawberries, sunflowers, cauliflower, broad beans, and radishes.
The children also explored how fruit grows, how we can eat it, and how it can be used to make delicious things such as strawberry milkshakes using the strawberries we have planted.
We also had another fantastic session with the Family Hub, where parents joined us to help support and improve children’s language and communication skills. Thank you to all the families who attended, it was wonderful to learn together!
Have a lovely weekend 😊

What a super week we have had at nursery!
Our theme this week has been “People Who Help Us” and the children have absolutely loved exploring different occupations through role play and hands-on experiences. We were also incredibly lucky to welcome some wonderful visitors into nursery to share their jobs with us and inspire our children.
We had police officers visit us, who spoke to the children about how to keep safe. They talked about stranger danger and what to do if we ever get lost in a supermarket. It was such a valuable and engaging experience for everyone.
We also enjoyed a visit from a guitarist who played live music for us. The children listened beautifully as he played and sang a song in Polish, and we all joined in with a nursery rhyme, “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,” accompanied by live guitar.
A carpenter also joined us in nursery and showed the children his van full of tools. The children were fascinated and even had the opportunity to use some of the tools under close supervision. What an amazing experience!
We were also visited by a supermarket assistant from Morrisons, who talked to the children about her role and how she helps customers every day in the store.
A huge thank you to all of our visitors who took the time to come into nursery and share their knowledge, giving the children the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the world around them.
What a fantastic, enriching week of learning!
Have a lovely long weekend! See you all Tuesday 5th May 😊

🦷✨ What a wonderful week we’ve had learning all about oral health! ✨🦷
The children have been exploring how to take care of their teeth and protect them from cavities. We talked about healthy and unhealthy foods and discussed how what we eat can help keep our teeth strong and healthy.
Our little dentists have been very busy in the role play area, checking each other’s teeth using dental tools and using fantastic new vocabulary throughout their play. It has been lovely to see their confidence grow as they talked about brushing, cleaning, and looking after their teeth.
Throughout the week, the children have taken part in a wide range of activities linked to oral health, including creative tasks, role play, mark making, and practical learning experiences. They have shown great curiosity and enthusiasm in all areas of learning!
On Tuesday, during our PE session, the children have also been developing their independence skills as they get ready for Reception. They have been practising getting changed, following instructions, and working together and building confidence.
We also had a fantastic turn out for our first session in collaboration with the Family Hub, supporting our families to help extend their child's language skills. A big thank you to all the parents who attended and took part, your involvement and support is greatly appreciated.
Have a lovely weekend! ☀️
