Just a few reminders:
💷 Please bring cash if you'd like to enjoy the games, activities and refreshments.
⚽ If you're taking part in the football tournament, don't forget your shin pads.
👕 Students may attend in appropriate non-school uniform.

☀️ Shelfield Summer Fair ☀️

We're looking forward to ending the school year with our Summer Fair! This event is for students only and will take place during Period 2 of the school day.

Students are welcome to attend school in appropriate non-school uniform and should bring cash if they would like to take part in the range of fun activities and refreshments available. Please note any student wanting to take part in the football tournament will need to wear shin pads.

At 11:30am, students will return to their form rooms before being dismissed at 12:00pm.

Yesterday, we took 12 of our Year 9 students to the Pearson More Than Words event, where they explored the importance of languages in the world of work and the opportunities they can unlock for the future.

A huge congratulations to Mkaela Williams who represented our school brilliantly in the Languages Talent Competition and achieved an incredible 3rd place with her brilliant Samba! ✨

Well done to all of our students for their engagement and exemplary behaviour throughout the day. A fantastic experience and one to remember!

🇪🇸 Last Friday, our Year 10 students had a fantastic time sampling a variety of delicious Spanish foods! They embraced the experience with enthusiasm, tried new flavours and were an absolute credit to the Academy. ¡Bien hecho! 👏

🩹🚑 Year 7 Stop the Bleed Workshops 🩹🚑

Last week our Year 7 students took part in Stop the Bleed workshops delivered by CitizenAID.

During the sessions students learnt vital first aid skills, including how to apply direct pressure to a wound, pack a wound and correctly use a tourniquet in an emergency. These practical skills could one day help save a life.

The feedback from the workshop leaders was fantastic, with our students praised for their enthusiasm, thoughtful questions and excellent engagement throughout. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented our Academy.

A huge thank you to CitizenAID for delivering such an informative and empowering workshop.

Well done to our Cradle to Career Teaching Interns for three weeks of working alongside our staff and students! ✨

Today, 60 of our Year 7 students took part in a dedicated LAMDA Drop Down Day, spending the first two hours developing and refining their performance skills before completing a mock examination during Periods 3 and 4.

The effort, focus, and confidence shown throughout the day were outstanding. Every student worked incredibly hard and they should all be so proud of what they achieved.

The top 50 performers will now be put forward to complete the official LAMDA examination during the next academic year. Congratulations to everyone who took part, we can’t wait to see what you achieve next! 🌟
