It was a real pleasure to attend Speech Day at Queen Mary’s Grammar School this week — a wonderful celebration of excellence, character and community.

Congratulations to all the students recognised for their achievements, and sincere thanks to the dedicated staff, governors, and families who continue to support and inspire them every day.

Queen Mary’s Grammar School has been part of Walsall’s story for more than four centuries, nurturing generations of young people who go on to make a difference locally and beyond. Its motto, “Quas dederis solas semper habebis opes” — “What thou hast given alone shall be eternal riches” — is a perfect reminder that true success lies in what we give to others.

It was inspiring to see such pride, talent and ambition on display. The future of Walsall is bright in the hands of young people like these.🌟🌟
