We are delighted to share that today’s whole school attendance is an outstanding 98.7%🎉

A huge well done to our pupils, families and staff for helping us achieve this fantastic result. With only 8 children absent out of 623, it is wonderful to see such strong commitment to being in school, ready to learn and make the most of every day👏

💬 Do you have questions about your child’s speech or language development?

We’re sharing these Autumn 2026 Speech & Language Therapy advice sessions with our Hillary Primary families. They’re for children who are not already known to the service, offering advice on supporting communication at home and accessing further support.

📍 Face-to-face drop-ins - no booking required:

• Wednesday 7 October: North Family Hub, 9-11am
• Thursday 15 October: Oak Park Leisure Centre, 9.30-11.30am
• Monday 19 October: West Family Hub, 9.30-11.30am
• Monday 14 December: South Family Hub, 9.15-11.30am

📣 For the attention of Year 5 and 6 parents and carers

Hillary Primary has been asked to share details of Wood Green Academy’s upcoming Open Evening—a chance to explore the school, meet staff and find out about secondary school life.

📅 Wednesday 23 September 2026
🕠 5.30pm–7.30pm
📍 Wood Green Academy

Discover the subjects and extra-curricular activities available, see pupils taking part in displays and ask questions. Special Educational Needs staff will also be available in the Hughes Block.

Choose your preferred option:
• 6pm Headteacher presentation, followed by a tour.
• 7pm Headteacher presentation, with a tour beforehand.
• A tour without a presentation.

The sessions are designed to help children stay active, develop their football skills, build confidence and make new friends in a fun and supportive environment. 🙌

🌟 What an AMAZING start to the school year! 🌟

A huge thank you and well done to all of our EYFS parents and families for making attendance such a priority.

👏 We are delighted to share that every EYFS class achieved over 96% attendance during the first two days of term!

This is a fantastic achievement and shows what can be accomplished when we work together to give our children the very best start.

The Early Years are a crucial stage in every child's learning journey. Strong attendance helps children settle quickly, build friendships, develop confidence, and establish positive habits that will support them throughout their time at school.

💛 Thank you for your continued support. We are so proud of our little learners and can't wait to see this fantastic attendance continue throughout the year!

The 100% attending classes will win an extra break time & the year group who has the best attendance for a whole term wins a selection of board games👏

We run a club called the 96% club. Any class that achieve 96% or more for their weekly attendance wins a movie token. When the class receives 6 tokens they then get a movie afternoon in class. The classes that have achieved that this week are;

Looking for a fun family day out? The West Midlands Fire Service are inviting local families to their FREE Fire Station Open Day at Walsall Fire Station!

📅 Saturday 12 September 2026
⏰ 10am – 3pm
📍 Walsall Fire Station, Blue Lane West, Walsall, WS2 8NU

There will be lots to see and do, including:
🚨 Rescue scenarios and emergency service demonstrations
🎵 Live music from The Band of West Midlands Fire Service
🚒 Technical rescue displays
🎨 Face painting
🍦 Ice cream, refreshments and food stalls
👨‍🚒 Meet the firefighters and see the fire engines!

A fantastic community event for children and families, with plenty of exciting activities throughout the day.
