Could you help shape the future of SEND education across Matrix Academy Trust?

We are looking for an experienced and passionate SEND professional to join the Board of Trustees at Matrix Academy Trust.

This is an opportunity to use your knowledge, experience and expertise to help ensure that children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities receive the very best education, support and opportunities across our schools.

As a Trustee, you will play an important role in providing strategic challenge, insight and oversight, helping us continue to improve SEND provision across the Trust.

We would particularly welcome interest from people with significant experience in SEND, inclusion, specialist education, autism, educational leadership or related fields.

If you have the expertise, passion and commitment to help us deliver Education Without Exception, we would love to hear from you.

We are deeply saddened to hear the news that PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Su***de has entered administration.

Since September last year, our pupils, staff, families and wider community have worked incredibly hard to raise money for PAPYRUS, taking part in challenges, events and fundraising activities across our schools. We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported our fundraising efforts.

The money raised during this time has helped PAPYRUS to continue its vital work, including supporting the HOPELINE, providing a safe and confidential source of support for young people experiencing thoughts of su***de, as well as those concerned about a young person.

We are incredibly proud of the generosity, compassion and commitment shown by our pupils, staff and communities. Every pound raised helped support this important work.

It is incredibly sad to see such an important charity face this situation, particularly given the vital service it provides to young people and families. We sincerely hope that something can be done in the coming weeks to secure the future of PAPYRUS and ensure that this essential support is not lost.

Whatever happens next, we want to thank everyone across our Trust who has helped raise awareness, show support and make a difference through our fundraising. Your efforts have mattered.

Yesterday, all year groups returned to school for the start of the new academic year. Pupils took part in a host of sessions across the day focused on life at Barr Beacon School, including our routines, expectations and what it means to belong to our school community. Everyone is now raring to go, with normal timetabled lessons commencing today. It’s fantastic to have everyone back!
