SUCCESS STORY | Meet our former Early Years’ student and owner of Rise & Shine Nursery, Claire! 👋

Claire first started studying with us in 2007 and since then has gone on to achieve amazing things.

Claire decided to study with us after taking part in work experience which made her realise that Early Years was the route for her.

She then decided to study a two year course with us before progressing on to our Foundation Degree.
Following her course, she was lucky enough to be kept on a as staff member at one of her placements in a private nursery. After moving to various roles within Early Years, Claire then decided she wanted to set up her own playgroup.
To help achieve her dream, she contacted local schools to rent out a space. After settling on a location, she rented one room and employed another two members of staff with 12 children on the books.

Fast-forward to today, Claire now employs 16 staff with over 100 children on her nursery books – how amazing is that?? 😲😲

Here’s what she says about her experiences of studying with us 👇👇

💬The staff were all so lovely, I had Leanne as my tutor and she was so supportive throughout the whole course. I loved that it was a mixture of placement based learning and college based so you get to build up your experience as you work your way through the course.
I would definitely recommend anyone to study Early Years at TyneMet. I had the most enjoyable experience and the staff there made me believe I could achieve anything I put my mind to.💬
