Day 2 of Monika's individual beginner training โ€“ Pedicure Day! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‘ฃ
Yesterday was all about pedicures, and it was another fantastic day of learning. We continued building confidence with the e-file, focusing on clean, safe and precise cuticle work on the toes. We also introduced the pododisc, learning how to gently and effectively remove dry skin from the soles of the feet, before finishing with a neat gel polish application.

Monika is such a dedicated student. She describes herself as a beginner, although she had already taught herself a lot from YouTube videos. But this is the perfect example of why watching videos can never replace proper hands-on training.

During one-to-one training, I'm watching every single movement โ€“ how she holds the e-file, the angle of the drill bit, how she holds the hand, applies colour, and every tiny detail that makes the difference between simply doing nails and becoming a professional nail technician.

One thing I already have to remind Monika of is... slow down! ๐Ÿ˜„ She naturally wants to work quickly, which is a great quality to have, but speed comes with experience. Right now, our priority is precision, consistency and building good habits. Once the technique becomes second nature, the speed will follow.

And before anyone zooms into the photos... ๐Ÿ˜‰ Yes, you might notice that the colour isn't painted completely under the cuticle. That's intentional. As an educator, I would much rather my student leave a tiny safety margin than flood the cuticle and get product onto the skin. Perfect cuticle application takes time to master, but protecting your client's skin and preventing unnecessary product contact is far more important than chasing a perfect Instagram close-up. Safety always comes before perfection.

I truly believe Monika has great potential, and it's so rewarding to see her confidence growing with every training day.

As a little bonus... I also got my toes painted in the most gorgeous new blue shade from our latest collection! ๐Ÿ’™

Next Saturday we're moving on to my favourite part of nail training โ€“ hard gel extensions! I honestly can't wait to introduce Monika to the technique I love the most. Let the sculpting begin!

Yesterday was Day 1 of Monika's individual beginner nail training, and every journey has to start somewhere. โค๏ธ

Before we even picked up an e-file, we spent time learning the foundations that every professional nail technician should know โ€“ hygiene and safety, nail anatomy, and recognising nail disorders and diseases. These are the things that make the difference between simply painting nails and becoming a responsible nail professional.

The practical part of the day focused on e-file manicure and modern gel polish application. Monika definitely didn't have the easiest model to work on... herself! ๐Ÿ˜… As a nail biter, her nail plates are very short, with the free edge sitting higher than the nail plate, and some nails were out of action due to damage from previous enhancements and nail disease. That meant we only had seven nails to practise on.

Despite all these challenges, her goal was clear: clean cuticle work and a neat, even gel polish application. And for Day 1, I think she did a really good job. ๐Ÿ‘

This is also a good reminder that not every nail is an Instagram-perfect nail. In the real salon world, clients don't walk through our doors with flawless skin and perfect nail plates. They come to us because they need our knowledge, our skills and our experience. Our job isn't to find perfect nailsโ€”it's to improve what nature has given us while always putting the health of the natural nail first.

So yes, these may not be the picture-perfect nails you see all over social media, but that's not what yesterday was about. The goal was to perform a safe, clean manicure, protect the natural nail, and achieve a beautiful, even gel polish application despite the challenges. And I truly believe we achieved exactly that. โค๏ธ

Of course, this is only the beginning. There are many practice sets ahead before these techniques become second nature, but I can already see something that can't be taught... passion. Monika genuinely loves nails, and when you truly love what you do, you'll always strive to become better.

I'm really looking forward to next week when we'll move on to pedicure training and continue building her skills. One step at the time

Sometimes I sit down to write a post and realise I have absolutely no idea what to say... so let's talk nails. ๐Ÿ’…

Every set of nails tells a story. Some clients come for a special occasion, some for confidence, some simply because having beautiful nails makes them feel a little more put together in a busy world.

What I love most about this industry is that it isn't only about creating pretty nails. It's about learning a skill, building confidence, and sometimes even creating a new career.

Over the years I've had the privilege of teaching complete beginners who were convinced they weren't creative enough, talented enough, or capable enough. Many of them are now qualified nail technicians with loyal clients of their own.

So if you've ever looked at beautiful nails and thought, "I'd love to learn how to do that," this is your reminder that everyone starts somewhere.

Whether you're interested in nails as a hobby, a side hustle, or a full-time career, my training courses are designed to give you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to get started properly.

Now tell me... if you could have any nail design right now, what would it be? ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ’•

Today was one of those days that reminds me why I love what I do โค๏ธ

I had the absolute pleasure of creating wedding nails for a very special lady โ€” my former NVQ student, Angie.

Angie is now a fully qualified nail technician and runs her own mobile nail business, which makes me incredibly proud. Yet for her special day, she chose me to do her wedding nails, and that means more than I can put into words.

She arrived with nails on... or rather, what was left of them ๐Ÿ˜… We won't discuss how the other seven disappeared โ€” I think the remaining evidence speaks for itself ๐Ÿ˜‰.

For her bridal set, Angie wanted medium-length almond extensions with delicate flowers at the tips, inspired by the lace details of her wedding veil. I used my favourite Superior Natural Pink to sculpt a classic almond shape and hand-painted elegant white flowers using art gel.

The best part? Seeing her reaction. She told me the nails looked even better than she had imagined, and there is no greater compliment than that.

Creating this set was a pure joy. Although Angie is no longer my student, she will always have a special place in my heart. I care deeply for all of my students. Watching them grow, qualify, build their careers, and achieve their goals makes me unbelievably proud. They become part of my journey, and in many ways, they feel like my children.

Angie, thank you for trusting me with your wedding nails. I wish you the most beautiful wedding day, a marriage filled with love, laughter, friendship, and endless happiness.

Congratulations, beautiful bride-to-be ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’

It's been a while since I last posted... again. โค๏ธ

Today is the 1st of June, and I felt it was time to remind you all that I'm still here.

Lately, I've noticed something changing in me. I still love nails. I still love teaching. I still love helping others grow in this industry. But ever since Covid, our industry has changed so much. To be seen these days, it often feels like you need to be louder, more aggressive, constantly selling yourself and chasing attention.

I've tried. Many times.

But the truth is, that's simply not me.

Every time I try to become someone I'm not, I end up feeling uncomfortable and eventually retreat back to my safe placeโ€”the place where I know I can make a difference. My clients. My students. Real conversations. Real connections.

So while I may not be the loudest voice on social media, I'm still here, doing what I love and supporting those who choose to learn from me.

If you like my style, my approach, and the way I teach, I'd love to help you on your journey.

My DMs are always open. โค๏ธ

And here are nails for my lovely friend Yulia for her trip to Japan Tokyo ๐Ÿ’•
Natural nails overlayed with Crystal nails Superior Milky Rose finished with chrome pigment and hand painted flowers which supposed to remind of Japanese cherry blossoms.
They were absolutely lovely ๐Ÿ˜
