Happy Fiji Day to our Fijian community! We had a wonderful day celebrating yesterday and being taught about Fijian customs, culture and, of course, the delicious food. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Did you know that there are only 5 schools across England that are uniquely located ‘behind the wire’ on military bases?

Today, Mrs Fawdry travelled to Blandford Forum to visit Mr Rielly and the team at Downlands Primary School to say hello, deliver some chocolates from our team to theirs and see how their school compares with ours. A great day seeing the school, meeting the children and staff and sharing how we each tackle the challenges of the many unique similarities we have at our schools.

Last week, as part of their English unit focusing on the text ‘Letters from the Lighthouse’ by Emma Carroll, the children in Year 6 have been writing poems around the subject of evacuees. This work was a stand-out piece which was very worthy of an achievement award in assembly on Friday! Well done! 🥳

What a very special Battle of Britain day we had today. The children (and staff) arrived in amazing dress of the era and then made their way down to the gate for a special service to rededicate the RAF Benson Gate Guardian with the markings reflecting Spitfire pilot William ‘Bill’ Johnson. We also Met Bills Nephew and his nephew’s daughter which was a real treat. This was a marvellous end to our Spitfire 90 project where we had support and inspiration from Spitfire AA810 - Restoring Sandy's Spitfire.

Our children did a fabulous job representing our school and our 4 brave readers read with clarity and confidence.

When the service was over, the children returned to school where lunch was served in mess tins - quite the experience!

The afternoon was busy preparing for the Battle of Britain exhibition showcasing the amazing work that the children had completed. Thank you to our parents who came to see our exhibition - if you missed it, it’ll be available at drop off in the morning.

What a great day remembering the few.

We’ve had a fabulous start to the new school year and last week, we were delighted that Terry and Nicola from Reading Force could join us to promote the love of reading with our children.

Each child went home with a new reading book and a scrapbook to complete.

Well done to those children who have already sent in their completed scrapbooks to get another new reading book and a huge thank you to Terry and Nicola for their time. We hope to see you again! 😊

We have had an awesome start back to the new school year and it has been great having our children back as the heartbeat of our school laughing in classrooms, corridors and on the playground.

However, we miss our Class of 2026. Some have already started the next step of their journey in Year 7 and most are bravely doing this tomorrow. We wish them all every success this year and look forward to hearing what they get up to. Remember to use your amazing growth mindsets! 😃❤️

Thank you so much to everyone who came out and supported our postponed summer fair today. There was a great family feel and a marvellous breeze under the shade of the trees.

A huge thank you to our parent and staff team for their energy and enthusiasm throughout. We are lucky to have you.

Today was our Spitfire 90 exhibition where each class has created a display around what they have learnt about the mighty spitfire. The work was incredible. We were also very lucky to have some parts from a real spitfire to look at and hold - thank you to Tony from Spitfire AA810 - Restoring Sandy's Spitfire.

Thank you to Station Commander Alice, SWO Wozza and our parents for coming to see the exhibition. It will be opening at 08:45 tomorrow for anyone who missed it.
