🍂 Hello everyone!
Welcome Back to a Brand New Term! We blinked and summer has gone!🍂

​We hope everyone had a fantastic, relaxing summer break!

We are super excited to kick off our autumn term tomorrow, and we have a very special welcome for four new children joining our little crew 🩵🩵🩵🩷
We can't wait for all the adventures, fun and learning ahead with them!

​We're so looking forward to getting back into the swing of things with our phonics sessions, our monthly private Smelly Wellies visits, trips to Beale Park, visiting all our old friends again at the care homes, and our exciting Forest School sessions, and everything else in-between!

We are also so proud to share that Lucy has officially started her Forest School Leader course!
So back to study for her, we just can't help ourselves 🙈😅

​We can't wait for an incredible term filled with making wonderful memories, plenty of muddy wellies, cosy story reading, and heaps and heaps of autumn fun! 🧡

🦚 Meet our official (and very fancy) outdoor assistant!

Almost ​every time we’re at the arboretum for our Forest School sessions, this handsome guy tracks us down and stays with us pretty much the whole time 🤎
He doesn't just pass by, he sets up camp right next to our craft table as if he’s on the payroll!

​Whether he thinks he’s part of the group, wants to critique our planned activities, or is just hoping for an accidental snack drop, having a wild, glittering peacock as our permanent sidekick makes every session more magical ✨

​Nature doesn't just surround our group, it literally joins in! 💙💚🤎

We had another magical walk with our little gang right on our doorstep yesterday! 🌿✨
​And of course our boss babies insisted on dressing up for it, we had butterflies, bumblebees, and even a couple of Spider men webbing each other along the way! 🕷️🦋🐝

​We enjoyed picking berries and exploring, but the absolute highlight was stopping by the lock and getting to watch the lock gates open to let the boats pass through.
The children were completely mesmerised! 🚤🌊

​We are so lucky to have such beautiful spots so close to home.

We had tired feet, happy hearts, and a couple of sleepy ones in our pocket-sized crew on the way back, hopefully they slept well last night 😴🥰

Today marked our very last visit to Smelly Wellies for this academic year, and standard to say, our hearts are completely overflowing!

​Looking back on our visits, it has been an absolute joy watching the children grow in confidence with every single one.
From shyly peering through the fences to eagerly hand-feeding the animals, gently stroking the fluffy guinea pigs, collecting fresh eggs, and making friends with the goats and alpacas, the change has been magical to witness. ✨
​Seeing the genuine empathy, kindness, and gentleness the little ones show toward every creature has made our hearts swell with pride.
Watching them connect with nature and learn to care for animals so tenderly is truly priceless. 🦙🐐🐰
​We love Smelly Wellies so much and are incredibly grateful for all the wonderful memories this year.
We can't thank you enough for giving our little humans the opportunity to visit you!

We already can’t wait to book more private sessions for the next academic year!

Nature doesn’t always need a lesson plan or big tools! While forest school is often associated with structured tasks like sawing wood, drilling, or making dens, THIS is every bit a true forest school activity in its own right...
Forest school is fundamentally about child-led exploration, building a connection with the natural world, and developing holistic well-being at a child's own pace.
Today was all about slowing down and just being in nature, letting our senses guide the way as we tasted sweet, freshly picked wild blackberries right off the bush, listened to the gentle stream trickling, watched butterflies flutter past, hearing a grasshopper, spotting a magical mermaid statue by the stream, and feeling the warmth of the sun along the path.

Without any tools or rigid agendas, this simple, sensory rich immersion allowed curiosity, imagination, and a deep appreciation for the environment to flourish naturally.

​What makes it even more special is that this incredible woodland walk is right on my doorstep!
We really enjoyed our walk today, they call it the woodland walk on the way to the fairy garden, aaaaand the Wonky Gonks live here too! (one of our favourite woodland books)

Whenever we visit the little wooden house in the fairy garden, their faces light up with wonder because they are completely convinced that’s where they live, adding a touch of magic to our outdoor adventure✨
