We realise that there's been an issue with our email this month, so if you've already completed & submitted a SYSTA application for ISHC in Tokyo or the IAHS Scientific Assembly in Roorkee but have not received a response from IAHS within the past two weeks, we kindly ask you to resubmit your application via the Google Form (link at the bottom of this message).

Deadline for SYSTA applications:
The Scientific Assembly in Roorkee is Friday 21 Feb 2025 at 09:00 GMT,
The ISHC in Tokyo is 28 Feb 2025 at 09:00 GMT.

Call for papers-Advances in hydrological science in Latin America. Latin America is home to unique hydrological systems with some of the largest river basins in the world. This Special Issue will shed light on the distinctive hydrological features of Latin America, especially the complex challenges and opportunities for sustainable water management in the region. We are pleased to announce the winner of the 2024 IAHS Falkenmark Award. Congratulations to Dr Djim Diongue from Université Cheikh Anta Diop, Senegal for his thesis entitled "Water partitioning in the sol-vegetation-atmosphere continuum in semi-arid regions: Applying mechanistic modelling and water stable isotopes in the Groundnut and Ferlo Bassin, Senegal". The award ceremony is scheduled to take place 4-7 November 2024 in Florianopolis, Brazil during the joint IAHS and the Brazilian Association of Water Resources (ABRHidro) conference.

The 4th Water,-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus Masterclass for Southern Africa is currently running online (11 - 13 June 2024. The WEF Nexus Masterclass, which is a precursor to the in-person Advanced School is a capacity-building initiatives to support early career researchers, postgraduate students, managers, and practitioners in understanding nexus thinking, particularly the WEF nexus, as a transformative approach to sustainable natural resources management and socio-economic development. As the field of nexus research is relatively recent, participants are being exposed to rapidly developing and critically important way of thinking. * Dooge medal - in recognition of her outstanding & remarkable contributions in taking to new frontiers the hydrological understanding of extreme weather events for the betterment of our communities - Prof. Lena Merete Tallaksen of the University of Oslo, Physical Geography and Hydrology Section, Department of Geosciences, in Norway
* Volker medal - in recognition of her steady & distinguished contribution in advancing the hydrological sciences across disciplines - Dr. Heidi Kreibich, at the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam, GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences, in Germany.
