Do you teach Maths to mixed year groups? Do you find yourself struggling to teach two different areas of Maths at the same time?

If you find yourself separating them out because your scheme is dictating what you teach and when then stop. This isn’t written in stone. A scheme is there to support you and should enable you to maximise the many opportunities to teach the children together and allow them to learn from one another.

Instead, chop up the sections and rearrange them!

If you find yourself looking at that PowerPoint slide and thinking ‘yeah, whatever’ then why on earth would it inspire your children to learn?

Ready to stop being a ‘follower’ and instead become a ‘user’? We’ll show you how 💪

This month I’ll be showing my lovely IMPACT members how to teach Maths using this gorgeous book. So many concepts become far easier to teach when children are engaged and my members will be learning how to teach and more!

IMPACT training happens once a month and is always recorded for easy catch up. This session is Saturday 13th June 2026 at 10am (UK time). Love to join us? Find out more about our cancel any time IMPACT membership infusing the link in bio above.👆

What recording in Maths can look like (and how meaningful and wonderful it is when it does). 🤗

This was originally just one question in a scheme textbook and then we brought it to life!

Can you read the story?

Recording itself using symbols is NOT the Maths, it’s simply a way of making sense of our thinking and communicating this to others.

Is that what your children are being taught? Is it the way you’ve been helped to think? 🤔

This was the child’s own story after I removed the very dry (and pseudo) context given by the scheme and we looked at what it could mean.

(This was a subtraction calculation in the scheme).

Love to hear what you think it’s about below 👇
