As Wrexham’s global profile continues to rise, what does that mean for the people who live there every day?

At the CIPR Cymru Conference, Nina Ruddle - Head of Public Policy Engagement at Wrexham University - will explore this in her thought-provoking session ‘From Football City to Civic Lab: The Felt Experience of Place.’

Moving beyond headlines and external narratives, Nina will shine a light on the lived experience of place - how communities feel belonging, opportunity, wellbeing and connection.

Drawing on extensive work across North Wales, the session will look at how:
🔹 Storytelling shapes perception
🔹 Participation builds stronger communities
🔹 Trust underpins lasting change
🔹 Community voice drives meaningful partnership

With over 25 years’ experience in public policy, regeneration and place-based leadership, Nina brings deep insight into how civic institutions can bridge the gap between reputation and reality - creating places that don’t just look good, but feel good too.
