This room had become the place everything ended up. Toys, boxes, bits and bobs with nowhere else to go. Now it's a calm, colourful playroom where every toy has a home and tidying up is actually easy (even for little hands!) 🧸✨

If you've got a room that's lost its purpose, I'd love to help you get it back. Covering South/mid Wales and Bristol, drop me a message to chat.

Part 3 of 3:

The Spare room.

Every house has one. The room that quietly absorbs everything you don't want to deal with, and then in December someone has to sleep in it.

Three steps:

1.Clear the floor first. Nothing else makes as much difference to how a room feels, and you can't see what you're dealing with until you can walk across it.

2.Sort what's in there into three: belongs in another room, going out, genuinely lives here. Take the first pile round the house now, before it settles back down.

3.Empty one drawer and a bit of hanging space for guests, and put the spare bedding somewhere you'll find it at half past ten at night.

It may take you a while but you’ll get there. It's usually the room people put off the longest and feel best about afterwards.

That's the series done: kitchen, hallway, spare room. If you'd rather not tackle it alone, I've got slots before Christmas, link in the bio.

Holiday packing, made simple.

1.Lay it all out
2.Clothes in cubes, toiletries in zip bags
3.Zip it up and you're done

Laying everything out first is the step most people skip, and it's the one that stops you overpacking. Save this for half term ✈️

Part 2 of 3:

The Hallway.

It's the smallest room in most houses and it takes the most abuse. Wet coats, school bags, muddy boots, three deliveries and a pile of post nobody has opened. Then in December, everyone's guests walk straight into it.

Three steps:
1. Take everything out. Coats that don't fit, single gloves, the shoes nobody has worn since last winter. Charity bag, now.
2. One hook and one basket per person. Name them if you have to. It stops the morning hunt more than anything else I do.
3. Make a landing spot for the bits that have no home: keys, post, permission slips. One tray, checked once a day.

Ten minutes a night this week and you'll feel it on Monday morning.

Part 3 is the spare room, coming Sunday!

Tell me honestly, how many odd gloves are in your hallway right now?

Is your kitchen the room that always feels a bit chaotic? 🙋‍♀️

You don’t need a whole weekend (or a total overhaul) to get it sorted. My Kitchen Clear-Out challenge breaks it down into one small job a week for 7 weeks:

1️⃣ One drawer
2️⃣ One cupboard
3️⃣ The food cupboard or pantry
4️⃣ The fridge
5️⃣ Pots, pans or baking cupboard
6️⃣ Worktops and surfaces
7️⃣ A final review and a home for everything

Small steps, a calmer kitchen, and a space that actually works for you. 🤍

Save this post so you can come back to it each week, and tag me Professional home organiser when you tackle a task, I’d love to cheer you on!

Part 1 of 3: The Kitchen.

If you’re hosting this year, this is the room that decides how December feels. Not because it needs to look like a magazine, but because you’ll be in it constantly and there’s currently no room for the big shop.

Three steps, and none of them need a full weekend:

1. One cupboard at a time. Empty it, wipe it, check the dates. Twenty minutes, then stop.

2. Put things back in zones. Baking together, breakfast together etc.

3. Leave one shelf empty for the big shop. Future you will be very grateful.

Do one cupboard a week and you’ll get there by the end of October/November!

3 seconds of satisfaction

Every paint pot, lined up and ready to go.

A clear box with a handle means the kids can grab it, paint, and pop it all back again.

Easy to use, easy to put away, and no more hunting for the yellow!

Moving house is meant to be exciting, but let’s be honest, the packing part rarely feels that way.

If you’re getting ready to sell, in the thick of packing, or just moved into somewhere new, I can help take the pressure off. From decluttering before your move to unpacking and setting up simple systems in your new place, so everything has a home from day one.

No piles of boxes. No hunting for the kettle at 11pm. Just a calm start in your new space.

I’ve got an initial 15 minute call of free 30 minute consultation if you’d like to chat through what you need. Details in my bio, or drop me a message.
