We headed off to our apple tree again where we picked some lovely juicy apples.
We used the wheelbarrow to transport them as a team, we peeled and chopped, we mixed the crumble, and popped the crumble in the oven to cook and the best part was to finally enjoy the fruits of our labour!! absolutely delicious apple crumble yum yum 😋 xx

The new 2 year olds are settling in really well and are beginning to feel comfortable and confident in their new surroundings. We have been having lots of fun exploring, playing and learning together.

We have enjoyed a magical light show, singing and bubbles, as well as some messy play where we had great fun feeding the dinosaurs! Water play has been a must, as always, and has provided so many opportunities for learning, exploration and discovery.

We have also been busy making ramps and tubes to post balls, apples and conkers through. The conkers were collected during our afternoon walk, giving us another lovely opportunity to explore the outdoors and gather natural treasures.

We went on a little visit to see the ducks and feed them, but unfortunately there were no ducks to be found—and there wasn’t any water in the pond either! Never mind, it was still a lovely opportunity to get outside and explore our surroundings.

It has been wonderful to see the children becoming more settled, curious and engaged as they discover all the fun and learning opportunities around them.

Sometimes, learning doesn’t look like learning at all. 🍂

It looks like collecting leaves.
Stopping to examine something tiny.
Feeling the wind.
Noticing a colour.
Asking a question.
Trying something again… and again.

But look a little closer.

There is curiosity.
Language.
Problem-solving.
Discovery.
Connection.
Wonder.

At Flockton pre school, we know that children are naturally curious and capable learners.

We don’t always need to give them the answers or decide where their learning should go next. Sometimes our most important job is to slow down, observe, listen and notice what has captured their attention — and then give that curiosity somewhere to grow. 🌿

Because childhood doesn’t need to be rushed.

Sometimes the most meaningful learning begins with something as simple as a leaf. 🤎

Wonder. Belong. Connect.
