Each week, our staff nominate students who have gone above and beyond in their lessons. Whether it's for outstanding effort, a great piece of work, or behaviour that reflects our Catholic values, these students each earn a coveted Golden Ticket.

All Golden Ticket winners are entered into a prize draw for the chance to become one of our Golden Ticket VIPs!

Our VIP winners are then celebrated by the senior leadership team and rewarded with some well-deserved treats in recognition for their hard work, positive attitude to learning and commitment to our school values.

Pictured are some of our recent winners! Well done, and keep up the good work! 🎟️

We’re proud to announce that Year 9 student, Georgia, has been named a Young Poet Laureate, here in West Yorkshire. 👏

Throughout her writing journey, Georgia has demonstrated creativity, originality and the confidence to express herself through poetry. Her work reflects the power of poetry to help young people explore ideas, emotions and experiences in meaningful ways.

The Young Poet Laureate programme, delivered in collaboration with The National Literacy Trust and The National Poetry Centre, champions young voices across the country and celebrates poetry as a bold, diverse and accessible form of writing.

At a time when many young people worry about “getting it wrong”, poetry offers the freedom to experiment, take risks and find your voice — and we’re delighted to see Georgia recognised through this programme.

That’s a wrap! 🎬

Congratulations to our Year 11 leavers who had their final day in school on Friday!

Before they left, we asked them to share one word (or a few) to sum up their time at Beckets.

Enjoy!

We are raising awareness of water safety in school this week and the importance of making safe and responsible choices around water.

The water is home to unseen threats. Threats that will take your breath away. Cold water and hidden currents catch out even the strongest swimmers.

If you find yourself struggling in the water, remember, float to live. Tilt your head back with your ears submerged, relax, and try and control your breathing.

Float To Live is a lifesaving message from the RNLI

Today our students, Olivia, Lucy, Amelia and Jacob attended the Good Shepherd Celebration at Leeds Cathedral.

The Good Shepherd Appeal is an initiative run by, and for, Catholic Care, a charity which works to support those in need in the diocese of Leeds. It has been organised every Lent for over 100 years, with schools from across the diocese now organising a wide range of fundraising events.

Our students proudly chatted to Bishop Marcus about the fundraising activities that have been taking place within school and presented him with a cheque for our funds.

It was wonderful to be part of such a special occasion, seeing young people coming together in faith, song and community spirit to support such an important cause.
