Wrenthorpe Walk 😍 To say this was ‘just’ a 3 mile/5km this morning would be a dis-service to it, and everyone 💗

We did Lindell Hill - and it was a hill 😅 - but SO worth the climb!

We noticed so much. We learned a lot. We talked. And listened, to each other’s stories 🫶🏽 We enjoyed so many beautiful views!

We all agreed that Jerry Clay Lane was for another day & that down, was definitely the way to do it 😆

Louise was warmly welcomed by all & we hope to see you again soon on one of your day’s off ☺️

A big thanks to John 🙌🏽 and everyone, for making this an absolutely brilliant way to start a Friday 🎯

We just need to find somewhere for a post-walk brew now 🧐

Tuesdays @ Thornes are already becoming a little bit special 😊

We can all walk round the park, on our own, at any time right?

But do we? We’re often hearing ‘no’ to that question 🤔

There’s many reasons ‘why not’, but being in the company of others is a big reason ‘why to’!

So, join us for your ‘why to’. Whatever that is, you’ll always be welcome with us 🤗

⏰ 09.30 - 10.30am Tuesdays
📍 By the Stork Cafe In Thornes Park
💰 £0
🤗 Everyone welcome

Eastmoor Walking Group
📅 Mondays
⏰ 6:30-7:30pm
️📍St Swithuns Community Centre, WF1 4RR
💰 its FREE

The weather may have changed but our walking group hasn't 🙂

Tonight 14 of us opened our doors walked or drove to Eastmoor Community Project (St Swithuns Community Centre) and decided tonight is the night I'm walking.

We talk about that 1st big step being the hardest when coming for the first time. It's scary it can be overwhelming after all we are strangers.

One of our walk leaders who started off as a 1st time walker with us said recently

"you meet as strangers but leave as friends"

The benefits of walking are MASSIVE

✅️ Stronger heart
Lowers blood pressure and reduces your risk of stroke or heart disease.

✅️ Blood sugar control
Helps leg muscles absorb excess glucose, reducing spikes after meals.

✅️ Joint and bone support
Builds bone density and lubricates joints to ease stiffness.

✅️ Weight management
Burns active calories and helps lower overall body fat.

✅️ Better mood
Releases feel-good hormones that lower stress and ease anxiety.

✅️ Sharper mind
Supports brain cell growth to protect memory and lower dementia risk.

✅️ Improved sleep
Helps reset your natural body clock, especially with morning sunlight.

Don't forget tomorrow's walk at Thornes Park, 9:30am meet at the Tennis Courts

See you soon

Wrenthorpe Park Walk

Today, we went on another magical mystery tour of Wrenthorpe Park. We walked where the shade lived, which certainly made it cooler.

It's so important to get out and explore where you live. Meeting new people can be really difficult so why not use the excuse of going for a walk and make new friends along the way.

Thank you for coming. Next Up is Eastmoor's Walk on Monday 6:30pm meeting at St Swithuns Community Centre.

📅 Fridays
⏰ 9:30am
️📍 Wrenthorpe Park, Wrenthorpe Rd, WF2 0HY
