And that’s a wrap for summer 2024 ducklings!
It is now time for us to take some much needed family time ☀️ 🌊 🏖️
As always thank you to our amazing parents for your continued support and we cannot forget a HUGE good luck to all our ducklings who have flown the nest and will be starting school this September!
We can’t wait to see you at the school gates and find out how your first weeks have been! We will be thinking of you! Be brave, be strong, be yourself! That’s the best you can be 💕

Wow! What a summer term it’s been ducklings! Just a few snippets of our fun - in and out of the sun! ☀️
We’ve had school leavers, parties galore, puppy raising, plant growing, paint smudging, summer house decorating and days out full of fun!
Thank you for the smiles and the fun ducklings. We’ve had a blast!

Would like to share our newest duckling with you all! As lots of you will know orange puppy was left until last. She was just waiting for Laura to realise they needed her in their home! 🥰🧡
Orange, now named Roxy will be coming to work with Laura everyday so the ducklings will get to see her grow and it will continue to help her in her confidence and desensitisation building. The best part, non of us have to miss our puppy snuggles! Welcome to the ducklings crew Roxy! 🧡🧡🧡

Due to a change in circumstance for one family. This last little girl is left. She’s vaccinated and microchippedconpletw with training academy access at The Golden Academy please message for more details. She is 8 weeks old today and ready for her new loving home. Would love her to stay close by if possible 🧡🧡🧡🧡

New childminding setting in Crofton starting very soon! We know we have lots of people on our waiting list and it’s unlikely we will be able to offer most if any places anytime soon. So feel free to contact this lovely couple. I can personally highly recommend them! We as childminders in the village work together to support each other, so if nothing else give them a like and follow 💛

As it is world book day tomorrow the children are welcome to come in their favourite book character outfits if they would like to! They are also welcome to come in pjs or just their comfies. Absolutely no pressure to be buying expensive outfits. But please let your little ones bring their favourite books as we will be reading lots and lots of books tomorrow. Thank you 🥰

The days of being back outside, 🌺 🌳 ☀️ we don’t need to leave the house most days because we have everything we need right here in our gardens 😍

This! 👌🏻 here at little ducklings the curiosity approach is taking over more and more and the ducklings seem to respond so much better to this, the natural self exploration of play.

There's going to be a few changes to our groups in the next month.

Due to the change of venue for our base, we will no longer be able to hold the FAB Wakefield group - this means that the last group at our base will be the 11th March.

However, we are opening up a brand new group at Sunbeam Family Hub, Tuesdays (term time) 1pm-2:30pm, on the 12th March!

Our group at Ferrybridge Community Centre is still not running due to the centre being closed but we are currently looking for a temporary venue to hold the group!

We are also looking for a venue for a Monday group - if anyone has any suggestions please let us know!

We have also been practicing our chipping skills again with our child friendly knife set. The children love to be independent and do things themselves. Which also in turn encourages them with trying new foods as they have prepared it themselves 🍌🍈😁

A morning at the park for the ducklings! We set off for soft play but it was too full when we arrived. So this was plan B 🥰 🛝

We had our registration visit today and are proud to say we absolutely aced it!! ❤️👍🏻⭐️⭐️

Today we finally got out again!!! Everyone is really well settled now and we decided today would be a great day to go and explore the new play area and the ducklings approve of it! 💫⭐️🌟

We’ve had a very busy few weeks, and sometimes when we’re in the moments with the ducklings we don’t always have a camera to hand! 🙈 But… here are a few we did manage to capture from the past couple of weeks.
We have used lots of different ways of creating a poppy shape, we have talked about Poppy Day and why we remember at carpet times with Laura.
We also created firework picture’s remembering what we have seen on bonfire night.
We’ve also been busy encouraging those fine motor skills and the ducklings are excelling!!
Next week can we please have wellies and all in ones as we will be getting out exploring a bit more now that everyone feels more settled within the home 😁 and the Christmas crafts are starting too 🤗🤗 🎄 ⛄️ ❄️ 🎅🏻 🐧 🍪

This week we made our own autumn coloured playdoh and it turned out to be the best we’ve ever made! We were very happy with how our autumn colours turned out.
We have used our autumn cutters to create differed shapes in our dough, we have made playdoh hedgehogs and printed leaf patterns in our playdoh.
Playdoh is such a great sensory and learning experience for children. They are also able to develop their fine motor skills by squeezing, pinching, pulling and Rolling the doh! Well done ducklings! 🍂🍂🍂🍂
