What a gorgeous morning for a run!! With marathon training in full swing there were some big miles smashed out this week on a pretty hilly route πŸ’ͺ🏻
A big congratulations to Lorna on her longest ever run πŸ‘πŸ» and a warm welcome to Will joining us for the first time, we hope you enjoyed it and will be back soon.
We’re back on Tuesday for our social 5 and 7.5k runs, watch out for the route post tomorrow

Hello- Mark here

I’d just like to put to bed the rumour that Sam and I are competing over who can do the hilliest routes- we both know that when Andrew finally returns he will out hill us

Anyway here are your 10k and 10mile options for Sunday.
The 10k is fairly flat and well the 10miler isn’t!!

For those marathon training hills are your friends!! For those not- well the back of the pack will have sweets!

Get yourself booked on and join us a good run out

Meeting at 8.30am Holmfield Arms car park.

Hard efforts tonight for the improvers gang with the out in 20 and back in 18 session. There were 20-18's, 20-17's and even a couple of 20-16.55's

It was deceptively warm but we got it done in style.

We're back on Sunday for our 10k and 10 mile long run.
8.30am, Holmfield Arms car park.

It was so much warmer than it looked tonight and some spicy hills in there but over 50 of you went out and smashed it πŸ’ͺ🏻
We welcomed Annabelle, Bruce and Sandra for their first runs with us, we hope to see you all again soon!
We’re back for tomorrow for our 20-18 session, 6.30 from the Holmfield Arms carpark

Hello, Sam here πŸ‘‹πŸΌ
It's Monday and time for our weekly session plan.

Tuesday social, 6.30pm:
We have our lovely social run, we have a delightful 5k and 7.2k option for you, both are taking you round the park and up balne lane, all downhill on the way back though! All paces and abilities welcome. Routes in the comments.

Wednesday Improvers, 6.30pm:
It's 20-18 this week, we'll be going out along denby dale and Asdale road for 20 minutes, turning around and trying to get back on 18 minutes. To be able to fully participate in this session we ask that you are able to comfortably do 5k in 40 minutes.

Sunday long run, 8.30am:
This is our long run, we have both 10k and 10 mile options, no-one is left behind and it's a great chance to chat your long run miles away.

All sessions held from the Lower Holmfield Arms car park, Thornes park.

Brilliant running from all today, we had a good split for both 10k and 10 mile routes.
Although the ups were tough the downhills made it all worthwhile.

We welcomed Adrian for his first Sunday run with us and a big well done Amy who has done her longest run yet, 25k is not to be sniffed at. πŸ’ͺ🏼

We're back on Tuesday for our social 5k and 7.5k runs.

We're hoping for cooler weather this Sunday as we do our long run.

We have both a 10k and 10 mile option this week. The 10 miler is... undulating.

Get yourself booked on and join us for the best chats, beautiful scenery and a grumble or two up a hill πŸ˜†

Meeting at 8.30am Holmfield Arms car park.

This lovely bunch went out for a Gill Syke fartlek under the eclipse tonight.
It didn't matter whether we did 3,4,5 or 7 of them, everyone put in a solid effort, kept hydrating and cheered each other round.

We also got an epic picture of the eclipse, thank you Charlotte!

We're back on Sunday morning for a 10k and 10 mile route option. There may be a hill or two. πŸ‘€

A warm but lovely, steady out-and-back tonight. It was really nice to keep everyone together, passing each other along the route, saying hello and cheering each other on as we went.

We also welcomed two newbies Dan and Dawn to the Fordy gang tonight. We hope you enjoyed your first run with us and that we'll see you back again soon!

Most importantly, we all made it back in time for the important stuff... birthday cake! πŸŽ‚ A very happy 65th birthday to Michael, celebrated with some delicious cake from our resident baker, McGravil's

Well done to everyone who came out tonight. It was brilliant to see so many happy, smiley faces, even in the heat!

We're back tomorrow for our Wednesday coaching session.

πŸ“ Same place

Thanks everyone, another lovely evening with the Fordy gang.

Holly here with your Tuesday run details! With another warm evening forecast, we're keeping this one nice and simple with an out-and-back. Perfect for managing your own effort in the heat... and, as you all know, I hate plotting routes, so everybody wins! πŸ˜…

We'll head out together along Horbury Road for 20 minutes, then turn around and come back the way we came.

This one really is your run, your pace. Take it as easy as you like, find someone to chat to and enjoy a social run. That's exactly what Tuesdays are for.

If you fancy giving yourself a little challenge, turn around at 20 minutes and see if you can make it back to the start in 18. Completely optional, and definitely no pressure, especially in the warmer weather.

6:30pm | Thornes Park, Holmfield Arms Entrance | Free to join

Please book on using the link in the comments and check in with a run leader when you arrive.

With the warmer weather, please bring some water, dress appropriately and don't worry about pace. Tomorrow is definitely an evening for taking it easy and enjoying the company.
