Feeling the love ❤️
Great morning tasting new food, we tried sweet and sour noodles, prawn crackers, rice and fortune cookies.
We listened to music from China and really enjoyed the prawn crackers.
Getting ready for the Chinese new year, starting Wednesday 29th January, its also the year of the snake, we are very excited to share what the snake represents and enjoy lots of new learning... we will also be trying new foods.
Creating snowflakes like the ones we found outside this week. Talking lots about the different patterns we can see. They weren't as cold to touch but we had lots of fun with the glitter ✨️
Lots of fun experimenting with snow this week, using the colours and watching it spread across the snow, we also enjoyed watching the snow melt as we played.
How cute are these little penguins 🐧 the children have made one for themselves, but they need names so don't forget to name them when they come to their final homes.
We created our very own baubles today, using cotton wool to dab the paint onto our bauble, we added some glitter (it was everywhere) we then used some sequins to make them extra special.
We had so much fun creating our firework pictures.
We used glue, salt and paint, watching the science was amazing, the children really enjoyed watching the paint expand onto picture. We added glitter for some extra p-zazz!
Simple but effective pumpkin printing.
Apple, orange paint and children who love paint. We added glitter just for some sparkle fun.
Pom pom pumpkins 🎃
This was a little tricky but the children worked hard at picking up the small pom poms and placing it on their own pumpkin card. We tried to create a scary face.
Creating our autumn frames... creative play.
Song basket out in full force... this is part of our routine every morning, the children absolutely love choosing an item and we all join in with the singing and dancing!
This was a fave this morning with the little ones, we were able to be so interactive, they climbed a mountain, travelled through a forest, rowed their boats on the lake and were able to collect leaves on their journey.
Our findings from our nature walk have been attached to our sunshine autumn tree...
What can you see?
Our Autumn sunshine tree, showing lots of vocab we will use during activities, when out on our nature walks and storytime sessions.
As we head into our intent month of Autumn we decided a nice simple leaf craft would be perfect, using different textures to place onto our leaf and different colours as we know how much the leaves change. We talked lots about what we were doing and what happens to the leaves when they fall from our big trees outside. Once dry we will then attach to our sunshine tree and watch the leaves fall throughout the month.
Time to start again guys, refresh ourselves back into September.
Great summer holidays, but we are so ready for routine again.
As we say bye to some of our older sunshines 🌞, we now say hello to our new ones also.
Let's do this 💪🏻
The children absolutely loved watching the science happen with these simple water colour books.
Using special water pens and watching the colours appear when placed on top.
We then loved watching it all dry and turn back white.
