We hope they have an enjoyable half term and we look forward to welcoming them back at 8.40am on Monday 24 February.

Leeds Digital Careers Fair 2024! 👔💻

🌎: The Careers Hub and the IT department have taken the Year 12 & 13 Digital Media students to the Leeds Digital Careers Fair hosted at the First Direct Arena.

✅: Students were able to experience the world of digital media, meeting over 50 exhibitors and employers who could provide careers information, advice and guidance in relation to job opportunities and apprenticeships. Students were able to watch live demonstrations and listen to key speakers within the industry

Sixth Form have had a lovely day in the sun washing staff cars to raise money for the Maths Funday charities .

Last week we had our Sixth Form Taster Days. Year 10s and Year 11s took the days to look round our Sixth Form Facilities and understand Woodkirk Sixth Form life.
learning the differences to main school and the positive attributes our Sixth form offers. Packed with extra curriculars, experiences from current students and the benefits of a smaller cohort and more personal school feel.

Alumni Visit 🎉

We were very excited to welcome back one of our previous Woodkirk Academy students into school. Latham is a Materials Science and Engineering graduate, studying for a PhD in nuclear materials chemistry.
Latham shared his experience and knowledge with our Year 10 and 12s in STEM lessons, where students were able to handle different metals and understand their differences.

We love our alumni students, and they are always welcome into Woodkirk.
