A warm welcome from Wakefield Chapter No. 495 to Companion Salter, who acted as the candidate for the Ceremony this evening.

A most convivial evening was enjoyed by all, including the four visitors who joined us. It proved to be a very useful preparation for our next meeting, where we hope to exalt a new candidate into the Order.

Under Any Other Business, the APGM, who also serves as the Chapter Second Principal, presented a Solomon Diploma Certificate to Excellent Companion Gary.

Congratulations to Gary, and thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to such an enjoyable evening.

Another excellent fraternal evening at Wakefield Lodge No. 495 saw the raising of Bro. Daniel to the rank of a Master Mason.

Congratulations to the team for performing an excellent ceremony, followed by the sharing of good food and great company which continued into the festive board.

Our next meeting will be one to look forward to as we hold the Installation of the new Master following the election of Bro. Andrew, our Senior Warden. I am sure this will be a real red-letter day for the Lodge.

Congratulations once again to Bro. Daniel and sincere thanks to everyone who helped make the evening such a success.

They just don’t make ceremonies like a Past Masters night anymore!
It felt like déjà vu in the best way possible at our February meeting. For the second passing in a row, the Past Masters took the reins for Brother Jordan’s ceremony. W.Bro. Gary opened the Lodge before handing the gavel to W.Bro. Nigel, who led a truly first-class team through a flawless night.
It was an honor to welcome two sitting Masters—including one who traveled all the way from outside Nottinghamshire—and our regular South Yorkshire crew came to support the night. We capped it all off with a superb festive board, raising a glass of wine thanks to the late W.Bro. Harry Watson’s generous legacy. 🍷
A damp February night outside, but nothing but warmth and brotherhood inside.

🎩 Second Degree Ceremony – Congratulations, Bro. Andrew! 🎉

A wonderful evening at the Lodge as we witnessed Bro. Andrew’s Passing to the Second Degree. He answered his test questions in truly exemplary fashion—showing dedication, preparation, and a clear understanding of our teachings.

Our officers worked together seamlessly and delivered a first‑class ceremony, reflecting genuine teamwork and care. We were joined by six visiting brethren, who added to the warmth of the occasion and helped make the night even more special.

The festive board that followed was full of good humour, fellowship, and warm fraternal friendship—exactly what Freemasonry is all about.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to a memorable night. Onward and upward! 👏

Another amazing night at the Wakefield Lodge No. 495 we welcomed our newest Mason into the Wakefield Freemasons family. Brother Andrew was Initiated and was treated to a superb ceremony where W. Bro. John took the Chair in the absence of our Worshipful Master and delivered ritual that was truly flawless. Congratulations to all the Brethren that took part in a first class performance. The evening was enhanced by 13 visitors from 8 Lodge from across the Province. There followed a wonderful festive board of fraternal friendship that provided a super atmosphere. There was also £145 raised to the MCF festival through the generosity of those who attended. What is even better we get to do it all again next month. Enjoy your Freemasonry.
