Buttons (baby room) have been revamping their spaces over the past few weeks. The training has inspired the team further 🥰.
I hope all of our Buttons have lots of fun exploring the rooms next week!

A day of learning for the team today. As the saying goes, "Play is the highest form of research". We made transient art using loose parts, and then made clay monsters . The baby room team explored sensory items using their whole body and all of their senses; as a more age appropriate activity. This was all during our 'Quality teaching' training. We also had a short training session on behaviour support and Special educational needs and disabilities. We will spend time reflecting and implementing new ideas over the coming weeks to provide the best care and education we can 🥰✨️✨️

Today was the second inset day of the academic year (infact only our second ever!). This morning we refreshed our knowledge of the statutory EYFS , safeguarding, teaching and learning at Crigglestone Daycare , and discussed the Ofsted reforms! I definitely did not have the best part of the day, but I was very proud of us all, and how much we covered by the end!
The team were engaged and forthcoming during discussions. The importance of these days, (instead of trying to train the team after 10 hour work days ), really showed this morning!

The whole team (well the 23 of us who could make it ) took part in a team building exercise. We worked around one large table to all create an individual Christmas wreath. A HUGE thankyou to Handtied for preparing this for us, and leading the workshop. We are all so grateful. This was more than a bit of Christmas fun. We all supported each other. We asked questions, gave suggestions, offered encouragement , offered considered and constructive criticism and praise. We all championed one another to deliver the best work we could, in the time given. And what spectacular results we had.

We have welcomed Christmas into nursery with our parent afternoons ! Unfortunately, due to the nasty early winter bugs, yesterday's event had to be cancelled. However; hopefully we can arrange an opportunity for parents who didn't get the chance to catch up with their childs key people, to pop in if they wish over the next few weeks.

👻👹☠️Wow! What a turn out. Thankyou so much to every single parent, carer and child who attended our Halloween disco. This was something a bit different for us (as we are doing room based Christmas events this year). The disco was loud , the room was busy, but for the majority it was lots if fun!!!! It was SO good to see the children dancing and getting invovled in the activities. It was also lovely to catch up with some parents, as there isn't often time to do that! A big thankyou to the staff team who helped set up,made up games, spent time with parents and children, and stayed back to tidy up. It is all very much appreciated! Finally a big thankyou to Isobel from Samantha's School of Dance - SSD for her fabulous disco! 💀👹👻

On Monday 13th October we had our first ever inset day. We are very proud to say that 23 members of our team completed the practical part of their paediatric first aid training that day! We hope we never have to use some of the skills taught; however, it gives us all added confidence to know that there are 23 freshly trained paediatric first aiders on the team 🙌. For many it was a refresher and keeping their training up to date, but for some it was the first time they have completed. A huge well done to all 🥰
