Yesterday we received a very exciting delivery…our cute little owl babies!

J came home from school and said “I’m going to make a set up with them for you”

I think she did a pretty amazing job, she’s clearly been very observant, watching us do set ups 🥰

Your child’s drawing could be featured on festive wrap sold at The Works this Christmas!🎄🎁🎅

We’ve partnered with The Sun ON SUNDAY and The Azaylia Foundation this holiday season. To raise funds for this charity and to buy gifts for sick kids in hospital this Christmas we’ll be selling very special gift wrap that could be designed by your child.

Just follow the below steps to enter their design!

1. Have your child draw a festive picture on A4 paper using pencils or pen, either landscape or portrait.
Email a clear, close-up photo of the picture to [email protected] with the subject line CHRISTMAS by midnight this Friday September 27th.
2. Include your name and a few words about why your child entered. You must include a telephone number.
3. Be sure to include your child’s age. There are three categories: Five and under, six to ten, and 11 to 16.
Keep the original artwork safe in case it is one of the lucky winners and needs to be scanned for use.

~ 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 ~

Today we’ve explored a new style of painting - transfer painting!

We each painted our autumn designs onto a piece of tin foil, then once we were happy with our creations we took a piece of card with a leaf on and pressed it onto our painted foil.

When the children lifted it up they were amazed that their painting had transferred from the foil to their card 🥰

Obviously Z had to do a little bit of free style painting at the end too 😂

~ 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 ~

Last night after tea we went for a walk and picked some blackberries, ready for todays activity.

Fast forward to this morning, where we’ve had lots of fun in the garden, painting with the blackberries and some fern leaves that A picked up from the green yesterday.

Painting with nature items has so many benefits, it sparks creativity, provides a sensory experience, connects children with nature, teaches them about their environment and develops fine motor skills.

Above all though, it’s FUN!! And that’s the most important element of any activity we provide for the children. If they’re having fun, they naturally learn ❤️

Lots of fun in the garden this morning 😊

~ 𝗡𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 ~

This afternoon we took our autumn numbers to the green and whilst the children were pre-occupied with James, I ran around and hid the numbers.

I then told the children I had hidden 5 numbers somewhere and they instantly ran off in all directions, excitedly searching for the numbers.

They were so excited every time they found one!

Once they had found all 5 missing numbers, we sat down and counted them together, before ordering them from 1-5. The older children did really well with this.

After our focus activity, the children led the way and explored their surroundings in their own ways, which included running, hiding in trees, picking flowers and visiting the horses.

Little touches of cosiness bring in the Hygge feels at snack time 🍂
