The first babies of 2024!

It's been a quiet month for babies making their entrance into the world for the lovely parents I get to meet.

2 girls and a boy!

I wonder how many February will bring and if we will get a leap day baby?

December saw 8 more babies welcomed into the world by the lovely couples I've had the pleasure of meeting and working with!

Including 1 Christmas Day baby! 🎄 🎁

I wonder how many we will see in January?

I know, I know, I'm a few weeks late! It's been a busy January 🤪

Here are a few things coming up over the next couple of weeks!

🟣Pregnancy Relaxation Class - suitable from 12 weeks. A chance to take time to chat all things birth, enjoy some yummy treats from before a half hour guided relaxation to help you unwind. There is a new venue for these, they will now be held at
🟡 New Mum Relaxation - the same kind of format as above but for new mums with babies in arms. Come and chat all things new motherhood (whether it's your first or fifth baby), enjoy some delicious snacks and then relax into a guided relaxation. Babies are welcome.
🟣 Group Hypnobirthing Course - this is the first one of the year. These are held over two Sundays at and are the perfect way to prep for birth and meet other expectant parents too.
🟡 Scan Painting and Pregnancy Relaxation evenings are back! These super popular scan painting evenings are back and the first one is in March this year. Come and join me and Danielle from as we spend the evening getting creative. Danielle will prepare your scan art for you, all you need to do is pick your colours and paint. Then we end the evening with a guided relaxation.

If you fancy joining me for any of these, comment ME below and I'll pop you the link to book.

👶Birth Story of Noah👶

This week my middle one turned 5, and I thought it only right to share his birth story to celebrate.

Noah's birth was absolutely life changing and is the reason I am here today doing this.

If you fancy a read it's over on my blog, I've popped the link in my bio for you.

But it involves
🏠 Home Birth
🛀 Water Birth
🦸‍♂️ Compound Presentation
🚑 Transfer to hospital

Proof that a positive birth experience doesn't always equal "perfect".

Better late than never!

8 lovely couples that I've worked with welcomed 8 beautiful, snuggly babies into the world in November.

An even split of 4 boys and 4 girls as well.

I wonder how many December will see us greet?

One of those lovely Mama's has also very kindly shared her birth story with me, so I'll be popping that up on the website really soon.

Birth is noisy right?

Generally yes. But it doesn't have to be the kind of noisy we often see on TV.

Making noises in labour are actually really helpful, especially if they are low, throaty kinds of noises.

Some people moo, some people roar, some people hum or groan or moan.

All of these kinds of noises tell our body to release endorphins, which are our bodies very own pain killers, said to be stronger than morphine.

But these kinds of noises can also help us to relax our jaw, which in turn helps to relax the pelvis.

So if you feel the urge to make noise during labour and birth, go for it. Lean into that instinct and use it to your benefit.

6 new beautiful babies were welcomed into the world in October from some of the lovely couples I have had the absolute pleasure of meeting and teaching.

I wonder how many we will welcome in November?

Worried about tearing when you are giving birth?

I totally get it. The thought of tearing down there could make anyone squirm and unfortunately it's something we hear in birth stories a lot!

So what can you do to prevent this or reduce the severity of tearing?

Well a few things actually.

🟡 Choose a UFO position. This stands for upright, forward and open. Avoid laying on your back if you can.
🟣 Regular perineal massage from 35 weeks (check this is safe for you with your midwife).
🟡 Pelvic floor exercises
🟣 BREATHE. Don't hold your breath during the pushing part. Breathe.
🟡 Avoid coached pushing if you can. Push when your body is telling you to.

And please remember, if you do tear, you haven't done anything wrong and our bodies are incredible and you will heal.

Are you worried about tearing? Do you want to ask me anything about tearing?

The best thing about hyonobirthing, it's portable!

OK so there are tons of other massive benefits of doing a hypnobirthing course but I honestly think that one of the best things about it, is that it's portable.

This means you can use it absolutely anywhere at all, even if your birth takes a totally different route to the one you'd been hoping for, hypnobirthing doesn't change and can be applied to ALL situations.

In fact, I think that's when it really does come in handy, when things go a little bit off track.

Tell me, where did you use your hypnobirthing tools and techniques?

These crazy three all call me mum! How bloody lucky am I?

My life would be so very different without them, each one has changed me monumentally, and each in such different ways. They have each shaped my life and taken it down paths I never even dreamed of before they arrived.

Whenever I look at them though, I always remember the one that never made it earth side and wonder who they might have become if we had got to meet them.

So wherever you are at today on your motherhood journey, whether it's a day of joy or a hard day, I'm sending you all my love!

Last night's live with Mama Tree Hypnobirthing & Baby Massage when we talked all about relaxation in pregnancy and the many benefits of it & why we both love running the classes.

PLUS we let you all in on some exciting plans that are coming in June!!

No gas & air? What now?

So it can be worrying for some that gas & air has been suspended in some hospitals, but firstly I want you to know this isn't wide spread so please don't panic.

But just in case you were hoping to use gas & air, it's a good idea to find out about other options of pain relief available to you.

Both pharmaceutical such as epidural & pethidine, and non-pharmaceutical like using water and tens machines.

We talked lots about this in last week's live with which is saved on the grid, and I cover all this in depth on all my courses.

But for those of you who want the low down, we are running an A-Z of pain relief workshop for anyone who wants to know much, much more.

If you are interested drop a ❤️ below and I'll send you more info!

Are you pregnant and would love to make something beautiful from your scan pictures?

It's such a treat to flex those creative muscles, enjoy yummy snacks and then take 30 mins to just totally and utterly switch off and relax.

We only have 4 tickets left for our next evening on 5th March, so don't hang around.

Link to book is in my bio! We'd love to see you there or tag someone below who you think would love to join us.

There are so many birth books out there for you to use to help increase your knowledge bank about everything birth related.

There are so many because there's just SO much you can learn. This is just a very, very small selection of the books I've got, the ones I've read most recently.

I'm part of because I cannot get enough birth info into my brain. I could talk about it all day long, and so I also want to keep up to date and full of information that's really useful to you, so if you have questions on a course, I can give you an answer or at least signpost you to the right place.

My most favourite birthy book is Reclaiming Childbirth as a Rite of Passage by Dr Rachel Reed. I cannot recommend this book enough, whether you are pregnant, plan to give birth or have given birth before. Read it. It's eye opening.

So tell me, what was your favourite birthy book?

Little reminder that tonight I'll be going live with Mama Tree Hypnobirthing & Baby Massage

We will be talking about birth partners tonight, about how often they aren't keen on hypnobirthing to begin with, how it can help them, the benefits of having a birth partner on board plus more.

7pm on Instagram.

As always, if you have any questions just drop us a message.

See you tonight!

I only have 1 space for private clients in March and 1 in April, so if you want one of them to be yours drop me a message and lets chat!

Not really sure what hypnobirthing actually is? We've got your back.

I'm going live on Instagram on Thursday next week with Teresa from to chat all about what hypnobirthing really is, because if we are being really honest, the name doesn't really tell you anything about it. 🙈🤫

We are gonna defluff it, talk about what to expect on a course, and chat about what it can do for you in pregnancy, birth and beyond.

We will answer any questions you've got about hypnobirthing too, so either drop them in a comment below or join us live and ask us then.

We'd absolutely love to see you there, and tag any of your pregnant friends so they can join us too. The more the merrier (although that also means if we mess up it will be a bit more embarrassing too).

Thursday 16th Feb at 7pm live on Instagram! Bring a cuppa and come say hi!
