With Chantry not meeting on the last Thursday of the month, four of our Brethren took the opportunity to visit Cambodunum Lodge No.3953 in Lindley. The main order of business was a 3rd degree ceremony, and it was very well delivered. Thanks to W Bro. Keith Dawson for the invite.

Last night, we were pleased to welcome a new member in the presence of Sir David Wootton, who even took part in the ceremony!

Sir David also presented the Lodge with a certificate for being awarded Grand Patronage of the 2028 Festival thanks to the donations we’ve made so far.

Kidz Aware were the charity that won our recent poll, but we’d encourage all the charities that took part to reach out to their local Masonic lodges, including ourselves, to let us know about the work they do.

You never know when you’ll strike a chord and make a connection, and where support may be given.

An excellent evening was had at The Chantry Lodge No. 4065 yesterday as W. Bro Simon Ryder was installed as the new Worshipful Master of the Lodge for the ensuing year.

W. Bro John Williams was in attendance and presented the Lodge with a certificate for the Lodge’s Vice-Patronage of the MCF Festival 2028 in recognition of our charitable endeavours.

Candidates for initiation are on the way, and we look forward to a productive year!

Lewis and Simon dropped in at the Kidz Aware Charity office to learn more about how a £2500 grant from the Yorkshire West Riding Freemasons Community Fund benefitted hundreds of families across the region over the Christmas period.

The boost also increased the quality of provisions and the charity expressed their sincerest gratitude.

As always, we’re proud to support organisations where we can.

At our previous meeting, we managed to raise £252 to support Florrie's Army - a charity supporting mothers in Leeds and surrounding areas. Check out their page for more information on their incredibly valuable work.

They asked for supplies rather than the money itself and “Mrs WM” did a tremendous job in collecting some on our behalf 👏

The Chantry Lodge No. 4065 recently had a minor grant approved from the West Riding Community Fund in aid of Kidz Aware Charity in Wakefield.

The grant of £2500 was used to help buy pyjamas, toiletries and Christmas presents for children with disabilities.

We’re delighted to be able to support local charities, especially at this difficult time of year!

As a well respected Freemason, J. R. Rylands was an honorary member of several of the Wakefield Lodges and also a member of several appendant orders. He was Worshipful Master of the Chantry Lodge in 1942 and his bust overlooks us as we dine together.

We like to think he’d raise a smile as we enable him to join in the festivities of the season! 🎄
