Please find attached the timetable for an overview of our community centre’s activities and courses taking place this coming month.
With the early nights coming we’re trying our best to make sure people have something to look forward to, for example:
👶 Baby Weigh and Play returns 6th October and will run Fridays 9.30-10.30am at West Wakefield Methodist Church. It’s a great way for parents and guardians to build support networks for themselves and their little ones (up to 12months old).
🎃 Keep your eyes peeled for seasonal tricks and treats at our café! Kirsty and co are open Monday-Friday, 9am-1pm at our Broadway site with lots of delicious homecooked food.
🧶 We’re hosting a Craft Fair on 18th November 10am-2pm at our Community Centre on Broadway in Lupset. Budding crafters and local sellers can secure a stall for the introductory price of £5!

Dear parent/carer,
I would like to take this opportunity to say congratulations to Mrs Cross for successfully securing a new job as head of school in another school in Kirklees.
Sadly, for Snapethorpe, it will mean that Mrs Cross will be leaving us at the end of the academic year for pastures new.
I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing her the best of luck for the future. We will really miss an incredible deputy headteacher, teacher and colleague but know that her future school will be very lucky to welcome her in.

☀️ After a glorious weekend it looks like the sun is set to stay.
⚠️ Here are some TOP TIPS for keeping your children safe in the sun.
1. STAY IN THE SHADE ⛱
It's a good idea to keep children in the shade in the middle of the day when the sun is at its strongest - try and get into the habit of heading indoors between 11am and 3pm, or use a parasol or a play tent to provide some shade.
2. USE A GOOD SUNCREAM 🧴
Make sure your little one wears sunscreen that covers any exposed skin - use plenty, and don't forget their shoulders, the back of their neck, the tops of their ears, nose and cheeks and the tops of their feet. Choose a sunscreen that has an SPF of at least 30, and at least 4 stars for UVA protection.
3. TOP UP THE SUNCREAM!🧴🧴
Try and put sun cream on your child at least half an hour before heading out to play - remember that you'll need to put more on throughout the day, especially if they've been swimming or paddling.
4. WEAR A SUNHAT 🧢
It's a good idea for children to wear a floppy sunhat that protects their face and neck whenever they're out in the sun. Wearing a hat yourself can really encourage your reluctant toddler to follow suit - and hats with chinstraps can be very useful if your child likes removing their hat!
5. DRINK LOTS OF WATER 🚰
Give little ones access to water throughout the day, especially in warm weather. Encourage them to drink regularly - particularly when they've been running around.
