👋 Behind the scenes of a Discover VR session day.

5:30am — alarm goes off.
6:15am — headsets charged, packed, and loaded into the car.
8:00am — arrive at school, set up in a standard classroom.
9:00am — first session begins.

By 3:30pm, up to 10 classes will have walked on the surface of Mars, flown into a volcano, or dived with sharks. Every single pupil with their own headset.

Most schools use VR at the end of a topic. A treat for finishing. A reward for completing the unit.

The schools that get the most from Discover VR do it the other way around.

👋 A bit about the person behind Discover VR.

My name's Liam. I spent 15 years as a classroom teacher — and in that time I saw firsthand how hard it is to make certain topics truly land.

You can show pupils a diagram of a volcanic eruption. You can play a video of coral reefs. You can project images of the surface of Mars onto a whiteboard.

But none of it comes close to the moment a pupil puts on a headset and actually stands inside those places.

That's why I started Discover VR. Not to replace great teaching — but to give teachers a tool that creates the kind of shared, immersive experience that makes everything that follows more meaningful. The discussions. The writing. The assessments. All of it gets better when pupils have a real memory to anchor their learning to.

We now deliver 22+ VR workshops to schools across Yorkshire and beyond — curriculum-linked, fully inclusive, one headset per pupil, and delivered with everything included so there's nothing for your school to organise on the day.
