Ash Wednesday
Although our schools are closed for half term, we would usually gather together as school communities to observe Ash Wednesday and begin the season of Lent.
Before the break, the BKCAT primary school pupils prepared and shared a special liturgy with their school communities, allowing us to mark this important day together in prayer and reflection.
We invite you to watch and follow along with the liturgy as we enter this sacred season of Lent.
“Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
Genesis 3:19
Let us pray:
Lord God,
as we begin this season of Lent,
help us to grow in kindness, compassion and faith.
Guide us to reflect on our actions,
to care for those in need,
and to walk more closely with you each day.
Amen.

Operation Celebration ✨🍪☕
Our pupils enjoyed an extended lunchtime break today, along with a hot chocolate and biscuit — a treat that’s especially welcome in this cold weather.❄️
Operation Celebration was our way of recognising and thanking our students for being such fabulous ambassadors for St Thomas à Becket. They truly shone their light throughout our recent CSI inspection, and we remain incredibly proud of every one of them.

Today is Ash Wednesday and our Lenten journey begins!
In the Gospel, Jesus tells us what Lent is all about: Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving. He tells the disciples, and us, how to do this well.
