🕯️🚶‍➡️ Batley Torchlight Procession:

🤩 What a joy to see our St Ignatius community come together on Monday evening for the 75th Batley Torchlight Procession!

❤️💛 Our children, families, former pupils and parishioners walked side by side, representing our school and parish with such pride

🙏 Led by Bishop Marcus, the procession ended with Benediction in church, followed by fellowship and refreshments in the parish centre.

✨ Members of St Ignatius were there for the first procession 75 years ago, and we're proud to carry on this beautiful tradition

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 A wonderful reminder of the strength of our Catholic family

🗳️ Our Year 6 children heard from our wonderful School Council candidates, who shared their ideas with such confidence!

👂 They listened carefully before taking part in a democratic vote for who would best represent their class.

💛 A brilliant chance to bring British Values to life — democracy, respect and knowing that every voice matters!

✨ Results to follow — good luck to all our candidates!

🌳 Reception had a wonderful time at Forest School!

🪵 They learned to build their own dens — starting with a sturdy pyramid of sticks and building it up stronger and stronger!

🍃 Working together, they added leaves and natural materials to keep their dens cosy and protected.

✨ Such brilliant teamwork, problem-solving and creativity out in the great outdoors!

🌟 Every Friday, we come together to celebrate the wonderful achievements of our school family!

🙌 We recognise amazing moments in faith, learning and life beyond school — it's always a joy to hear how our children are growing and shining.

💛 Three very special children are also celebrated each week for showing our three Rs: Respect, Resilience and Responsibility.

✨ A joyful chance to celebrate kindness, effort and brilliant choices — we are so proud of every single child!

❤️ What a lovely way to end the week together!

🎉 Last week, our wonderful Mini Vinnies celebrated their commissioning ceremony — an afternoon filled with love, prayer and joy!

📖💡 Our children read and sang with such confidence and pride, their faith shining brightly for all to see

🙏 Each child made their Mini Vinnie promise, following in the footsteps of St Vincent de Paul and St Louise de Marillac to care for others and help those in need

❤️💛 Huge thanks to our staff, families and the SVP for making this day so special

✨ The promise has been made — now the real adventure of kindness and service begins!

🤲 May God bless our Mini Vinnies on their journey of faith and service

🙏 Holy Mass with Anointing of the Sick

⛪ Our wonderful Mini Vinnies had the privilege of attending Mass with the Anointing of the Sick, bringing our parish together in faith and prayer

❤️ This beautiful sacrament offers God's comfort, strength and peace to those who are sick or suffering

🤝 Afterwards, our older Mini Vinnies helped serve parishioners in the Parish Centre, organised by the SVP.

✨ A wonderful example of faith in action — proud of our Mini Vinnies for showing such reverence, compassion and service!

🎉📚 Celebrating our favourite books!

✨📖 On Thursday afternoon, the children enjoyed creating some fantastic book reviews about their favourite books and sharing what makes them special

🖋️ We have loved hearing about the stories, characters and authors that have inspired our children to enjoy reading

🤩📝 Some of their wonderful reviews will be proudly displayed on our KS2 Reading Display in the shared area outside our classrooms, so everyone can enjoy their recommendations!

🤗🏫⛪ Belonging:

🤝 Through our half-termly theme of 'Belonging', the children in Early Years have explored what it means to work together cooperatively as part of a team. We have reflected on how we each have a special place within our class, school, parish and wider Church community

🥰 We have explored how, as members of God's family, we are called to love, support and care for one another, recognising that everyone is valued and has an important part to play

🙏 Through prayer, reflection and teamwork, the children have developed a deeper understanding that we belong together as one community, united in faith and God's love
