How it started vs. how it’s going! 🎨🔨

This week, the Castleford Team have been hard at work transforming the Gospel Hall in Airedale, which will soon reopen as The Centre on Royds Ave. The building is currently undergoing renovations and will become a hub for a range of services designed to support the local community.

As part of our Community Project, we’ve been proud to work alongside YPEP, who have been supporting young people and families across Castleford and Pontefract for many years through their youth clubs and care services. The space is also home to Castleford Community Food Pantry, where local people can access food and essential supplies without needing a referral.

Through this project, our team has been learning more about the VCSE sector and the incredible local organisations working tirelessly to make a positive difference in our communities.

We’re nearly finished with the room, and the transformation has been amazing! The space already feels brighter, more vibrant, and full of life. We’ve painted a large chalkboard wall which will soon be framed, and we’ve also created a stencil of the Centre’s new logo ready to be spray painted onto the wall, Banksy style! 🎨✨

We can’t wait to show you the finished result! 👏

A fantastic opportunity for our King’s Trust Team participants to make a positive difference in their local community. We’re proud to be working alongside YPEP on this exciting project and can’t wait to see the transformation take shape over the coming weeks.

A huge thank you to the team at YPEP and to Ash for their warm welcome and generous hospitality - keeping our young people fuelled with doughnuts, yum yums, biscuits, tea and plenty of encouragement along the way! 💙

Keeping the energy high to deliver this ambitious community project 💪🏻

🎉 Exciting things are happening at YPEP! 🎨🛠️

We are delighted to be working in partnership with Castleford College students on an exciting project to transform our space at The Centre, Castleford.

Over the coming weeks, the students will be bringing their creativity, skills, and ideas to help create a welcoming environment for the children, young people, and families we support.

Follow our page to see the progress, before-and-after photos, and the amazing transformation as it unfolds. We’ll be sharing regular updates throughout the project!

A huge thank you to the students and staff at Castleford College for supporting our vision and helping us create a space our community can be proud of. 💙

Classroom makeover for our community project – a complete journey of events captured in photos. Well done, Team 2! You’ve done an amazing job, and I’m incredibly proud of the lasting impact you’ve made. A friend once coined the word “FABTASTIC,” and I can finally say I’ve seen something that truly fits it. You hardworking and creative bunch have nailed it!
