🚲🚦Life Skills Outing 🚦🚲

Today we visited the brilliant bike track to learn some valuable road safety skills we can use in the big world! The children had SO much fun, whilst covering all areas of learning! They practised stopping at red lights and waiting for green to go, checking twice at junctions and letting people cross the road! I’m so impressed with the way my little petals listened carefully and followed instructions 👏🏻

💡Open Ended Play💡

Loose parts and open ended resources are available everyday in our setting as part of our continued provision. With no direction, rules or set activity, children are able to explore, manipulate and combine these materials and objects. This provides opportunities for children to be creative, think critically and problem solve independently or as part of a team!

🤠🚀 Purposeful Play 🚀🤠

Our petals have gone Toy Story mad, so what better way to encourage maths than small world play with buzz and woody! The children enjoyed imaginative play with their favourite friends, whilst identifying shapes and building, as well as counting sheep with bo peep.

After that, they enjoyed some drawing around shapes and exploring the different planets buzz visits when he goes to infinity and beyond!

🎨Creative Freedom🎨

After reading ‘The snail and the whale’ the children explored with watercolours. Unlike thicker paints, these allow for creative freedom and more detailed results. They studied the whale pointing out features like the teeth and tail before copying it carefully!

Something all of our little petals really enjoy are our regular adventure walks! Sunshine and fresh air boost mental well-being and cognitive development.
