🎨Outdoor Painting 🎨

Yesterday the children went outside and took part in a lovely activity to allow the children to explore making marks in new ways.
The children used some water equipment and filled it with paint and water and pressed the buttons to sq**rt the paint onto the paper pinned up on the wall.
The children had such a good time creating marks in lines, circles and mixing the colours to make new colours.

🐽 Three Little Pigs 🐽

The Cheeky Chimps have enjoyed reading the three little pig stories with our new teddies. The Chimps listened so well to the stories and shared the pigs and the fox teddies between themselves. They learnt new words such as "Straw, Sticks, bricks, Pigs, Fox". The children were able to identify the different materials (straw, sticks, brick) from seeing them on the pigs. They also enjoyed feeling the different materials in the book.
The children really enjoyed having the props to learn alongside the book.

🪥 Toothbrushing in Marvellous Monkeys 🪥

The Marvellous Monkeys have really enjoyed implementing the toothbrushing scheme into their daily routine. The children have been learning some new words such as "teeth, toothbrush, clean, plaque, enamel, toothpaste". The children have already adapted to doing this everyday and are always excited to sit down and take part.

Well done to our Marvellous Monkeys! ⭐

✨ Tuff Tray's ✨

Here are some of the lovely sensory trays we have done over the last couple of weeks.

The Colour Monster: The children have been learning about the different types of emotions, and feeling of others, they enjoyed learning about the colour monster story and they took part in a creative activity. The children learnt about empathy, respect, boundaries, how to resolve conflict and different facial expressions.

Under the Sea: The children learnt about how different types of waste can end up in the sea and on beaches and how important it is not to dispose of waste here. The children used tongs to pick out the 'rubbish' from the sea and keep it clean.

Bird Tray: The children enjoyed learning about different species of birds. They enjoyed exploring at our birds tuff tray activity, learning new words and also how to care for the living things. They made birds nest and during this activity they enjoyed discussions around creating their own stories and how to care for all living things.

🌈 Funding for 9 month olds 🌈

Parents of children aged from 9 months can apply for their funding code from tomorrow 12th May ready for the roll out of the scheme in September 2024.

From tomorrow, eligible working parents of children from 9 months old will be able to register to access 15 hours of governement funding childcare per week (38 weeks per year) from the term after their child turns 9 months old.

On Saturday our wonderful team took part in Safeguarding training alongside our fantastic sister nursery. 🌟

✨Eid Celebrations at Cliff Hill ✨

A huge thank you to our amazing Mai for cooking all her fellow staff members some Gambia style stew, rice, couscous, mixed veg and salad!
It was beautiful and such a lovely treat for everyone!

Thank you Mai for letting us experience some of the different foods you have been cooking for Eid.

✨First Aid Training ✨

A big well done to our staff members who have recently completed their paediatric first aid training, for some it was a great opportunity to refresh their knowledge and gain any updates and for others it was an opportunity to complete their first aid for the first time and come back with the skills and knowledge to put into action!

Yesterday we had our Food Hygiene Inspection and are very pleased to announce we maintained our '5' rating!

🪥 Toothbrushing Scheme 🪥

Last week we received our award for successfully delivering the Wakefield Toothbrushing Scheme here at Cliff Hill.

Well done to our Tigers and Monkeys who have learnt some amazing new words such as ‘plaque’, ‘enamel’ and ‘cavity’.

They have also been learning about germs and to make sure they brush their teeth daily to keep them clean and healthy.

We are very proud of our children and staff for implementing this into their daily routine! 🦷🪥

🥞 Pancake Day! 🥞

Today we have set up a yummy pancake station in the staff room for our staff to enjoy. The children have also decorated their own pancakes for their pudding with different fruits to enjoy.

🚀 Space Month 🚀

This month at Cliff we have been exploring space and light and dark. The nursery have been exploring our new dark dens using different sensory lights. The Bears have enjoyed exploring sensory balls, tubes and lots more. The Tigers have been using torches on the walls to see how they can make shadows on the walls.
The children have learnt lots of new information regarding space and planets and have enjoyed exploring different activities and sensory trays.

I thought when ***** was in chimps, monkeys he had the best staff and we were upset when he moved. But the staff in the Tiger team where ***** has spent the majority of his time have been nothing short of amazing.

We are fast-paced nursery seeking an individual who is enthusiastic, passionate and committed to join our team working team, 40 hours per week!

Under guidance of:
Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager and Senior Practitioners

Working Hours:
40 HOURS PER WEEK
7.30am - 6.00pm
Monday to Friday with 1 day off

Roles and Responsibilities

• To be a positive role model for children – demonstrating how to make good choices with regards to food, exercise, reading, making conversation, building relationships etc.
• Ensure that equal opportunities are given to all children and parents.
• Supervise and support children at all times.
• Maintain an attractive and welcoming environment.
• Prepare and supervise activities suitable for children’s age ranges and stages of development under the guidance of qualified practitioners.
• Read and implement all company policies and procedures.
• Adhere to policies that are updated or altered within the time scale.
• See your senior with any concerns.
• Maintain a positive attitude at all times with children, parents, visitors, and work colleagues.
• Ensure confidentiality is maintained.
• Attend regular staff meetings and where necessary planning meetings.

• Follow correct nappy changing procedures.
• Follow good personal hygiene routines.

• Ensure the room is clean and safe at all times, making sure to follow the cleaning rota.

An enhanced disclosure is required, and expenses will be met by the employer.
