Following on from the highly successful (not to mention, entertaining!) Music Quiz Night, our wonderful PTA has organised Race Night. Even if you're not into horses or racing, just come along for the delicious food and fun atmosphere!

The Tractor Run event is happening this Friday starting in Flimwell, heading through Ticehurst, Stonegate & finishing in Wadhurst. There are 40 tractors participating including 4 families from our very own school so it would be great if you could please get out & support them especially as all the donations are being given to the 3 primary schools. The estimated times are:-

Public viewing @ Flimwell 5pm - 6pm

• Departing Flimwell Village Hall – 18:10
• Ticehurst (The Bell) – 18:25–18:30
• Stonegate (Cottenden/Bardown Junction) – 18:45
• Enter Blacksmiths Lane – 19:00
• Sparrows Green Junction – 19:10
• Uplands Academy – 19:15

There’ll be volunteers along the route with buckets collecting cash or offering a QR code that takes you to a payment link.

WE'RE RECRUITING!

We're seeking a Level 3 Nursery Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the room leader in the daily running of the room and ensuring that the children are provided with a safe, stimulating and caring environment.

Responsibilities:
• Assist the room leader in planning and implementing activities that promote the children’s learning and development
• Supervise and engage with children during free play, meal times and outdoor activities
• Monitor and record children’s progress and achievements
• Support children with personal care routines, including toileting and changing nappies
• Maintain a safe and hygienic environment for children at all times
• Build positive relationships with parents/carers and provide regular feedback on their child’s progress
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required
Requirements:
• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent
• Experience working with children aged 0-5 years in a nursery setting
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and its implementation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A warm, caring and patient personality
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

This is a part-time, temporary position initially, term-time only for 15.5hrs per week.

Back by popular demand! Little Acorns Pre School Barn Dance!

Little Acorns pre school enjoyed another fun Forest School session this week.
Our pre school and Key Stage 1 children love our weekly Forest School sessions held here on site.
Last term, our Key Stage 2 children had an incredible whole day of Forest School for each class, where they were really able to get stuck in with making, building and cooking outside. Outdoor learning is so important for all our children and they gain so much from it.

We do have 1 or 2 spaces left for some days from September 2025 in our pre school so do, please, contact us if you would like to know more or to visit us.

Our lovely after school Gardening Club children designed this amazing Bug Barrel, where it was proudly displayed at this year's Hampton Court Flower Show. Some of our club members visited the show recently during school time with the Gardening Club leader, Mrs Thomas, and were able to see an incredible array of flower species as well as the Bug Barrel on public display.

Yesterday, our Saplings and Mighty Oaks classes (Years 3-6) joined a live writing workshop with Pobble365.
The children created some amazing pieces of writing and we even got a shout out - yay!
