🌟 Year 9 Enrichment – Session 3! 🌟

This Wednesday, our Year 9 students took part in their third enrichment session, exploring a fantastic range of activities, from Ultimate Frisbee to origami and much more!
It’s been wonderful to see so many students getting involved, trying new things and embracing the opportunities on offer. There’s been plenty of enthusiasm, creativity and enjoyment along the way! 👏
We look forward to seeing what they get up to in the next session!

🎉 Another exciting addition to Wadebridge School!

This week saw the official opening of our brand-new Catering Pod — and our students are already loving it!

A huge thank you to Chartwells, our catering company, for helping to make this fantastic new facility possible. The Pod gives students a quick and convenient option for grabbing a snack, helping to avoid the queues in the main canteen and making break and lunchtime that little bit easier.

And it doesn’t stop there! Alongside our new Barn, our students now have a fantastic new outdoor space to eat, meet up, relax and enjoy time with their friends.

It’s brilliant to see these new facilities already becoming such a positive part of school life. We’re continuing to invest in our school environment and create spaces that make a real difference to our students’ day-to-day experience.

A trip down memory lane for the Class of 1980! 🎓
On Saturday 3rd October, Wadebridge School was delighted to welcome back members of the Class of 1980 for a special reunion.
The reunion was arranged by Jackie Nash, and we were pleased to accommodate a tour of the school, led by School Trustee Stuart Robertson.
For our visitors, the tour was a wonderful opportunity to reminisce about their school days, share stories and anecdotes, and see just how much Wadebridge School has changed over the years.
It was lovely to welcome everyone back and hear their memories of their time at Wadebridge. We hope you enjoyed your trip down memory lane as much as we enjoyed having you back!

Class of 75-80 🎓
Left to right: Tim Rogers, Stuart Robertson, Geoff Saunders, John Saunders, Bridget Rea (Teagle), Tricia Bowden (Evans), Tracey Bowden (Pearse), Nick Romans, John Housego, Nina Hewitt (Minear), Roger Hewett, Jackie Pinnegar (Nash), Jeremy Millman, Mark Bishop, Debby Wilkins (Sellars) and Steve Burt.

It was a real pleasure to welcome so many families to Wadebridge School for our Open Evening last week. We hope you enjoyed your time with us, meeting our staff and students, exploring the school and getting a feel for everything we have to offer.
The atmosphere throughout the evening was fantastic, and it was wonderful to see our school community come together to showcase Wadebridge at its very best.
A huge thank you to our Year 11 Student Leaders and all of our student helpers, whose enthusiasm and kindness made such a difference. Also thank you to every member of staff who gave their time and worked so hard behind the scenes to make the evening such a success.
And finally, thank you to all the families who came along and spent the evening with us. It was lovely to meet so many of you, and we hope you left with a real sense of what makes Wadebridge such a special place to be.

On Friday, a small group of students from Years 8, 9 and 10 enjoyed their first session of a fantastic six-week intervention with The Two Bays Trust.
Every Friday for the next six weeks, our students will spend two hours outdoors learning about our local environment and coastal area, while exploring how spending time outside and connecting with nature can support our mental health and wellbeing.
Today was a brilliant start! The students got to feed the animals, create nature collages and enjoy some fresh Cornish sea air.
It was lovely to see them getting stuck in, enjoying being outdoors and experiencing all that our beautiful local environment has to offer.
We’re looking forward to seeing what the next five weeks bring!

Today, our students had the pleasure of hosting our 10th Business Breakfast, and we are incredibly grateful to all the businesses and organisations who joined us. It was wonderful to welcome both new faces and familiar ones — for some, it was their first visit to Wadebridge School, while others were returning to their old school and sharing memories of their time here.
Our guests shared their career journeys, explaining how they found their way into their current roles, as well as talking about the apprentices they now employ within their organisations.
Our Year 11, Year 8 and Year 7 students played a huge part in setting up and hosting the event. They spoke with our guests about their own experiences and the enrichment opportunities available at Wadebridge, including Duke of Edinburgh, Ten Tors, Work Experience and so much more.
A huge thank you also goes to our DT Team for cooking the amazing bacon rolls, and our Site Team for setting up the room and helping with car parking.
These events really are a whole-school effort, and we are incredibly proud of everyone who played a part in making our 10th Business Breakfast such a success.
We would love to welcome even more local businesses and organisations to future events. If you would like to find out more about careers, enrichment opportunities or ways you could work with Wadebridge School, please do get in touch.
