One day. One Academy. One opportunity to take your training to another level.

Our annual **Gasshuku** has become one of the highlights of our Academy calendar — a full day dedicated to getting away from our normal class format, training together and exploring different aspects of **Goju Ryu and martial arts** in greater depth.

🔥 **THIS YEAR’S TRAINING INCLUDES:**

🥋 **8:00–9:00** — Black Belts Advanced Kata
💪 **9:15–10:30** — Hojo Undo & Sanchin
🥊 **10:45–11:45** — Advanced Kihon including Throws, Locks & Chokes
🥋 **12:00–1:00** — Saifa Flow Drill
🍴 **1:00–1:30** — Lunch Break
🔪 **1:30–2:30** — Knife Defence
🥊 **2:30–3:30** — Thai Pad Workout
🧘 **3:30–4:00** — Cooldown & Close

🥋 SANCHIN SPECIALIST TRAINING — FREE ADULT SEMINAR

📅 Sunday 13th September
⏰ 9:00–10:00am
💥 COMPLETELY FREE — ALL ADULT GRADES WELCOME

Sanchin is one of the most important kata within Goju Ryu Karate and plays a fundamental role in developing the body, movement and principles that underpin our karate.

This special one-hour session will give us the opportunity to slow Sanchin down, explore it in greater depth and understand why we practise it — not simply how to perform it.

🥋 During the session we’ll focus on:

• The movements and mechanics of the kata
• Correct Sanchin stance and posture
• Coordinating breathing, movement and tension
• Developing stability, structure and control
• Understanding how Sanchin helps build a strong foundation for the rest of our Goju Ryu
• Shime testing — looking at how we test the stance, posture, breathing and structure while performing the kata

Sanchin translates as “Three Battles” and sits at the heart of Goju Ryu. The principles developed through its practice influence so much of what we do — from our posture and breathing to our power, stability and ability to remain composed under pressure.

This isn’t about simply getting through another kata. It’s about developing a deeper understanding of the principles that can make all of your karate stronger.

Whether you’re relatively new to Sanchin or you’ve practised it for years, there will be something to take away from this session.

And importantly…

☀️ AS SUMMER COMES TO AN END… IT’S BACK TO SCHOOL & BACK TO FULL UNIFORM! 🥋

As summer comes to an end and everyone gets back into their usual routines, we’ll also be returning to full karate uniform for all classes.

📅 From Tuesday 1st September, all students must wear their full karate gi when training.

The option to wear an Academy T-shirt during the warmer summer months will finish, so T-shirts will no longer be permitted in normal classes.

🥋 NEED A NEW GI?

We know children have a habit of growing over the summer! 😄 So if your current uniform is looking a little on the small side, we’re offering:

⭐ 10% OFF ALL NEW KARATE GIS THROUGHOUT SEPTEMBER ⭐

Wearing our gi is an important part of karate. It represents respect for our art, our instructors and each other, while helping create the discipline, unity and pride we want throughout the Academy.
