Vyners School Welcome to the Official Vyners School page. Vyners School is a mixed 11-18 Academy. Our aim is simple.

Whether you are a student, parent, prospective parent, neighbour or a potential candidate for a post at Vyners - we hope that this page will provide a brief insight into our school and some of the fantastic work undertaken by our highly motivated students and exceptional staff. We want to be the best school in the country so that our students get a better deal here than they would in any other sch

ool. Vyners is an extremely popular and successful school with an excellent reputation for academic achievement and extra-curricular activities. The school’s performance at GCSE and A-Level is outstanding – since 2015 we have been ranked in the top 5% of all schools nationally at GCSE and in the top 2% of schools at A-Level for academic progress. In 2016 80% of students gained A*-C grades in both English and Maths and 20% gained eight or more A*-A grades. The Ofsted inspection in December 2013 agreed with the school’s self-evaluation at the time that we were a Good school with Outstanding Behaviour and Safety and Leadership and Management. Our sustained progress since means we are confident that we are now an Outstanding school. Our school values: Community, Aspiration, Respect and Endeavour, underpin everything we do and were developed in conjunction with students, staff, parents and governors in 2013. At Vyners, we successfully combine a 21st Century education with traditional high expectations of uniform, behaviour and standards. We pride ourselves on the positive relationships that exist in the school and the sense of being part of a happy community. We are a genuinely comprehensive school, believing that all students bring their own talents to our community. We value our students equally and take great care to make sure that every one of them is happy, secure and successful. We strive to develop ‘Rounded and Grounded’ young people, ready to make a positive contribution to the world. I firmly believe that the success of a school should be measured by where its students are five to ten years after they leave it. We have a strong tradition of our students attending some of the best universities in the country and securing highly competitive apprenticeships at leading organisations such as Rolls Royce, the BBC and Google. Our alumni can be found in a wide range of exciting careers and many of them remain committed to Vyners School returning to support the current students as they strive for excellence. Every day is Open Day at Vyners and visitors are always welcome.

Tuesday follows the events at a school playground on a seemingly normal day. That is, until the sky cracks open and the world turns upside down with both teachers and pupils being taken into a parallel universe.
