You want to stay as the default skin

I want to be the jacked and strong monster

We are not the same

My strict curl side quest started today and I can’t wait to see what numbers I can put up

Having a side quest like this is a great way to spice training up, keeping it fresh and fun

So what are you waiting for?!

Set yourself a side quest NOW!!

Set yourself a side quest

Not sure where to start, don’t worry I got you

Pick a lift that isn’t one of your long term goals and aim to make it strong AF

That could be; pull ups, zercher squats, strict curls, overhead press, dips… the list goes on and on

Whatever gets you excited

Making one of those lifts stronger is more than likely going to have carry over in some way, it might not be directly

But making a body part bigger and stronger is never going to be a bad thing

Does technique matter? Yes and you should be hammering it

But so does building muscle

If you’re not doing some bodybuilding accessories after your main strength work, you’re shooting yourself in the foot

More muscle = greater force potential

So stop trying to arch your way to a bigger bench and get jacked AF!

170kg ❌

I’m pi**ed that I missed 170kg, after hitting it twice in prep, once at comp standard and another as a dead bench. But s**t happens and we come back stronger

It was a sick day watching and smash their first comp… the first of many 👀

A massive thank you to the dude is a wizard and makes all of this possible

Another huge thank you to everyone that came to watch and support, big love ❤️

And to for being the most supportive girlfriend, doing so much behind the scenes to make sure I was in the best position possible on the day 😘

Now back to building a monster bench

You can’t decide how long your limb lengths are going to be (thanks mum and dad)

But you do have a say in how much muscle you have

You can literally build muscle to help you change your leverages

Yeah if you’re not ‘built’ for a certain lift it’s going to take time to improve it…

BUT YOU CAN MAKE IT BETTER

And yes this is a multi faceted issue.
Technique, programming etc matters

But this is a big part of the puzzle

So stop putting yourself into camp ‘I’m s**t at this lift’

And do something about it

Lift heavier weights over time, that’s how you get stronger, build muscle, increase bone density and build stronger connective tissues

If you like doing pilates, yoga, hobby horsing or whatever you enjoy that’s sound…

BUT IT ISN’T A SUBSTITUTE FOR LIFTING WEIGHTS

Do those ALONGSIDE weight training

I’m tired boss…

We live in the time of instant gratification, where everyone wants progress and results instantly

To get strong af and build muscle you have to hammer the fundamentals for a long period of time

Follow a proper programme, train hard, identity your weakpoints and fix them, nail your nutrition, get good quality sleep and have good stress management

That doesn’t mean training has to be boring, training shouldn’t be boring

I actively encourage people to find variations they enjoy and progress them

If you hate back squats but love zercher squats, do zercher squats. If you progress them you will get stronger and they will build your legs!

Anyway thank you for coming to my TED talk, hope you’ve all had a good day, peace out ✌️
