To celebrate England playing their first game in the World Cup tonight, Little Lemurs thought they would celebrate with some fun activities such as, a foam football game this afternoon. 🥅⚽️ Pre-School’s Football Fun Day…….. ⚽️🥅
Today in pre-school, we’ve had an amazing time celebrating England's first match of the World Cup this evening!
The children were full of energy as they participated in their very own penalty shootout outside. Taking turns to score goals, they cheered each other on, creating a wonderful atmosphere of teamwork and excitement.
Inside, we crafted England flags to show our support for the home team and created marble flags while exploring a fun finger puppet football game. We also had a blast using straws and Pom Poms to blow balls into the football nets! Singing and dancing to popular football songs, along with reading football-themed stories during storytime, made the day even more special.
A huge thank you to everyone for supporting our Football Fun Day by wearing your kits or something red or white to pre-school! ⚽️🥅❤️

🌏Around The World Animals🌎
This morning the Cheeky Chimps have explored the world’s different environments and the animals that inhabit them. They used their fine motor skills to pick up the various textures and sprinkle them around the tray, mixing everything together. The babies also used their mouths and taste to investigate certain elements of the activity. The carers encouraged language throughout the babies play such as “sprinkle”, “crunch” and naming the animals.🦁🪼🐴🐧

🏴 Mini Monkeys Supporting England 🏴
This morning in the Mini Monkeys room we have been getting ready to support the England football team as they prepare to play later this evening. We created our flags to cheer on our team and played our own game of Mini Monkeys football using the wooden players. We are so excited to see if we win later and celebrate England no matter what the outcome.
We shouted “come on England” and cheered with eachother. We also spoke about the importance of teamwork and how working together can create outstanding outcomes.
Come on England 🏴.

🙂😐Mini Monkeys Emotions Table😐☹️
This morning, following on with the ‘Our Smile’ week, the children have been looking at their emotions. They’ve taken a look in the mirrors and turned through the books to see all of the different types of emotions that they might feel such as happy, sad, angry and tired. They used the emotion monsters to recognise happy faces and gave their biggest smiles in the mirrors. Excellent language was used throughout such as “I’m happy in that mirror” and “that baby’s crying”.

🌍🐢 World Turtle Day in Preschool🐢🌍
This morning in preschool we have been celebrating all things world turtle day. To start the morning off all of the children sat down to learn all about turtles and different facts about them. We learnt that turtles hatch from “eggs” and when this happens they are called “hatchlings”. We also found out that turtles are “reptiles” and they like to eat “fish and plants in the sea where they live”.
After this, the children went off to explore lots of different activities themed to turtles. The children had fun colouring sorting, practicing their fine motor skills and completing a craft to bring home. For our craft we used green paint, pegs and cotton buds to create the affect of a turtle shell. The children had fun stamping the paint on and talking about how a turtles shell is made out of the same thing as human finger nails.
Overall, we’ve had a fabulous morning here in preschool😊🌍🐢

🫧🐢World Sea Turtle Day🐢🫧
The babies in Cheeky Chimps enjoyed helping the sea turtle decorate their shell ready to celebrate World Sea Turtle Day! The babies used their fine motor skills to try and pick up the paint soaked cotton wool through the cling film, but when the carers demonstrated how to splat the paint, the babies soon got involved with their gross motor skills to create a lovely colourful shell for the sea turtle. Some of the babies found the toy sea turtles and the coloured sheets and engaged and interacted with these resources, playing peekaboo, and reviewing the different turtles😊

🦷🪥 Looking After Our Smile 🪥🦷
This morning in the Mini Monkeys room we have continued with our word of the week ‘our smile’ by looking after our teeth. The children took a look at the food between the teeth and we spoke about our own experiences with brushing our teeth and the importance of a clean smile. After using our skills to brush the teeth we then put our more complex fine motor skills to the test by flossing between the teeth, ensuring all of the food was out and the teeth were left shiny. There was lots of great language heard including “I brush my teeth with my mummy” and “we brush our teeth morning and night”.

🎁🎈🎉🎂 Happy Birthday King Charles 🎂🎉🎈🎁
The children in our pre-school room have been busy recently making and creating some beautiful birthday cards for the kings birthday in June.
We also spoke about the King and where he lives and things that are of significant importance to him.
👑 “Celebrating the King's birthday in early years settings provides a rich, play-based context that bolsters learning. It helps children develop social skills, sparks early historical and cultural awareness, and enhances fine motor skills through creative activities like decorating and making cards” 👑
We used a variety of different media to decorate our cards and these have now been posted to Buckingham Palace.
We hope the King enjoys receiving and looking at his birthday cards 🎂❤️🎉
