Pre-School’s Nature Week……… 🌳🌷🪻🌸🐞☀️🦋🦆🌏

To wrap up our nature week, the children in the pre-school room have been showcasing their flower arranging talents, playing at being mini florists by creating beautiful displays in wooden vases.

Additionally, we've had a fantastic time making fossils with play dough, incorporating various bugs and insects.
The children have also done an amazing job with colour matching using our flower colour wheels and counters, while practising their fine motor skills by placing buttons onto flower petals.

It’s been a delightful week filled with nature-inspired fun!

🚌🛞 Mini Monkeys Bus Adventure 🛞🚌

This morning, to finish off our word of the week, ‘Vehicles’, the Mini Monkeys children have had lots of fun aboard the bus! 😊. They firstly chose their seat with their very own ticket, which was heading to the ‘Mini Monkeys Mini Fest’, which will continue nicely into next weeks theme of ‘Festivals’ and ‘Party’ as we conclude our summer holidays with a sing along and a boogie.
The children throughout the activity enjoyed taking turns of driving their friends to the Festival as well as sharing and taking their friends tickets.
We also started to warm up our vocals and started to bust our moves to the ‘Wheels on the Bus’ song.

The children continued to role play and explore together which has been lovely to see.
What a great week of fun Minis!

🌳🌸🌷 Nature week in preschool 🌷🌸🌳

Over the week, preschool have continued to explore and investigate nature. Within the classroom we have had lots of opportunities to engage with nature.
Preschool have been making nature potions, mixing water and leaves and petals, decorating butterflies using natural resources, moulding playdoh around logs and pine cones, creating caterpillars and many bug hunts and explorations.
We have seen some incredible fine motor control, making worms from playdoh, bending and folding caterpillars and using crayons to colour beautiful flower pictures. Alongside this, we have heard some super discussions of what the children see when they go on walks outdoors, when they’re playing on the playground and exploring.

🐄🤠Rodeo Small World Sensory Tray🤠🐎

The babies and carers had lots of fun at the rodeo during outside play! The babies experienced a range of language, such as naming the animals, making animal noises, and imaginative play dialogue. The babies and their carers enjoyed exploring the different textures of the hay, the sand and the Weetabix hay bales, and using their motor skills to move the animals and feel the materials.

🔴📈🚗On Your Marks, Get Set, Go!🚗📈🔴

Today in Mini Monkeys the children have continued to explore ‘Vehicles’ by following marks, lines and shapes displayed on the floor. The children explored the activity as a group and worked cooperatively to reach the end. As the children worked on their hand and eye coordination as well as fine motor control, the children also explored the various vehicles and there colours. Language of ‘circle’, ‘my mummy has a red car’ and ‘my roads bumpy’ was heard throughout their play. The children continued to race one another, take turns with the cars and zoom to the finishing line.

Great skills shown Mini’s well done!

✈️ ☁️ Come Fly With Me ☁️ ✈️

This afternoon in Little Lemurs to celebrate National Aviation Day, the children explored a sensory sky with lots of planes flying around! Using their spoons to scoop the rice, filling their bowls and listening to it pitter patter on the tray just like rain. There were lots of textures to explore such as the soft shaving foam and the silky blue sensory cloths. Lots of role play took place like flying the planes around and crashing through the clouds.

Pre-School’s Week Of Nature Continues…………. 🌳☀️🦆🐞🦋

Today in our pre-school room, the children had a fantastic time exploring flowers as part of our nature week.
We created some lovely vases, showcasing their impressive scissor skills and flower recognition 🦋🦆🌳🐞☀️

We also dove into a variety of natural objects in our dough activities, making marks and printing patterns. This led to exciting discussions about where these items come from and how they grow in trees and woods 🌸🪻🌷🌸

Throughout the day, we continued our adventure by exploring birds, whales, and insects in engaging ways that stimulated the children's curiosity.

It was another wonderful day filled with nature activities and fun!

🛁Cheeky Chimps Baby Bathtime🛁

The children had a lovely time today bathing the babies, touching and feeling the soapy water and popping the bubbles. They used sponges to wash the babies and enjoyed squeezing them to watch the water drip out, and had fun exploring all the different bottles too, filling them with water and squeezing the water back out again. The carers added lots of lovely language to their play with words like; bath, splash, bubbles, wash, squeeze and soapy. 🫧🛁🧼🧽
