🦔🍁LITTLE LEMURS Autumn Hedgehog 🦔🍁

This afternoon our Little Lemurs children have put their physical and fine motor skills to work by reaching up high to place and pick up the Autumn leaves to stick onto their hedgehog.
The children used lots of language such as “orange”, “spiky”, “leaf” and “stick”.

🍎🍏Mini Monkeys Apple Pinecones🍏🍎

This morning, the children in Mini Monkeys have been painting pinecones to make their very own apples to finish off our ‘Apple’ week. They used the paintbrushes to paint their pinecones and the glue to stick a green leaf on top! Excellent language was used throughout such as “it’s a red apple” and “brush brush brush”.

This morning the babies in Cheeky Chimps have been busy feeding the autumnal animals, with the pasta, leaves, pine cones and logs. This really put their fine motor skills to the test, and with some determination some of the babies successfully fed the animals. We introduced language such as “crunch”, “fox” and “squirrel”. 🍁🦔

Pre-School’s Autumn Adventures Continued:……….. 🍄🍁🐿️🍃🌳🦔🍂

This week, our pre-school has been filled with exciting autumn activities that have provided wonderful learning experiences for the children.

They've been marking with sticks, exploring different sensory trays, and enjoying some leaf rubbing. The little ones crafted stick men, made pumpkins, created autumn trees, and designed leaf collages.

We've also had fun with tennis ball characters to collect conkers and matched numbers with real leaves.

What a lovely and engaging way to celebrate the beautiful autumn season!

🍎🍂 Mini Monkeys Gruffalo Crumble 🍂🍎

This morning, the Mini Monkeys children have been busy making their very own ‘Gruffalo apple crumble’. They got to work by scooping the oats and poured them into the baking trays, complete with slices of apple 😊. The children also had the opportunity to look through The Gruffalo book, pointing at the pictures and enjoying the story 🤩.

There was some lovely language heard throughout, such as, ‘I have an apple’ and, ‘I love The Gruffalo’.

🍁🎃🍂Fine Motor Autumn Tray!🍂🎃🍁

This morning, the Cheeky Chimps have been honing their fine motor skills by exploring the giant autumn web, reaching for objects concealed beneath it. Our little ones displayed impressive pincer grips as they retrieved leaves, pumpkins, mirrors, and more. We introduced vocabulary such as "leaf," "pumpkin," and "pretty." The babies showed delightful excitement when the carers showered them with leaves, which was a joy to watch. 🍁🎃🍂

Look out, there’s a fireman about! 👨‍🚒

This afternoon in our pre-school room, one of the children noticed a fireman’s ladder 🪜 outside the window and excitedly pointed it out to their carer.
When the fireman arrived, the children gathered to watch, peering out the window as he climbed up onto the roof.

They were completely captivated by the scene, making it a wonderful spontaneous moment for everyone in the pre-school! 👨🏻‍🚒🔥🧑🏻‍🚒

🍎🍏Autumn Apple Crumble Sensory Tray🍏🍎

The babies in Cheeky Chimps enjoyed exploring the apple crumble sensory tray outside with their carers. There were lots of learning opportunities and play experiences and our senses were fully utilised to explore the different sensations. The babies explored the textures and scents of the apple slices, cinnamon and oats, exercised their fine and gross motor skills to use the baking utensils, and heard plenty of language and key terms, such as “sprinkle, crunch, mix, pour and scoop”.

🍎Mini Monkeys Apple Bobbing 🍎

This morning, the children in Mini Monkeys enjoyed apple bobbing. They utilised scoops, tweezers, and nets to catch the apples. We counted how many apples each child caught before returning them to the water for another attempt. We observed how the apples became shiny while in the water, and how their colour changed once they were out of it.

🍎🫙 Mini Monkeys Apple Sauce 🫙🍎

Today in the Mini Monkeys room we have continued on with our exciting word of the week ‘apples’ by creating our very own apple sauce. We held a conversation about the ingredients we need and the process of mashing the apples together. Some children had a recollection of trying this at home and mentioned it was ‘yummy’. We used our fine motor skills to grasp the apples and dab them into our jars. Lots of great language was heard including “I see red and green” and “mash, mash”.
