Today is Playday 2026.

This year’s theme, Play – Here, There, Everywhere, reminds us that play does not need to be complicated.

For babies, play can happen during the everyday moments families already share – during a feed, a nappy change, getting dressed or settling down for sleep.

A little eye contact, a silly noise, a gentle stroke, a song or a simple sign can turn an ordinary routine into an opportunity for connection, communication and fun.

Baby massage, baby yoga and baby signing all bring play into those small moments.

Parents do not always need to add more to their day. Often, what they are already doing together is play.
